Chapter 18

•Alex's point of view•

My body stopped feeling like my own when her teeth sunk into the soft skin on my neck; leaving pink little scars that can be seen easily.

My fingers always have he slightest tingle of numbness that rests on the tips. The wind does not brush against my skin lightly; the feeling is like little shards of glass being pulled along the surface of my skin.

My head is a jumble of useless words that scare me as I press my hands to the steering wheel of the car. It's once smooth leather rough and itching under my hands.

My blond hair does not feel right as it brushes across my forehead.

The long gashes in my shirt rubbing uncomfortably against my exposed chest.

Emily keeps giving me odd stares and weird little hand squeezes that informs me she sees the change.

Then that voice I keep hearing leaks into my mind and whisper things ever so quietly in my mind. She's no good, Emily is no good; leave her come to me.

I can not seem to understand the meaning behind the eerie words that slither their way across my mind when I least expect it.

Every time those words can be heard my neck feels a slight pinch and my head clouds over as a fuzzy feeling fills my mind.

My own body does not even respond to me as I sent unknown glares to Emily even as a small smile tries to grace her lips.

Her soft brown eyes trying to understand mine as she searches my face every so often.

Her fingers grasp the seat as the car comes to a sudden stop making my fingers turn white from grasping the steering wheel so hard.

Her face is covered in confusion at the sudden stop of the car as she searches around for the reason. Her eyes scan over the outside without even realizing she will not find anything there.

I start to ask her about the car and if she ever filled it with gas before she started this journey. She looks startled and asks what gas is; her brown eyes look totally and underly confused as a burst of angry gathers around my chest.

I feel her jump slightly as I snap at her, my body does what it feels like without my consent. Snapping and yelling at her without a real reason.

She looks nerves as I throw open the door. My body has its own little tantrum before going to the back of the car to find extra gas.

My mind feels fuzzy as my eyes search around and my fingers lift up rugs and other unknown objects that lay forgotten at the back of the car.

Anger gravitates around the base of my skull as I end up empty and find no trace of extra gas.

My hand slams down on the car before I can even register my actions. A large dent forms where my hand had fallen making my stomach knot at the new found strength.

I stand still and just stare at my hands as my muscles flex with every hand clench and unclench with every heavy breath.

I hear Emily take a low gasp from the front of the car. The harsh wind cuts though my skin as I stay as still as a statue just starring at the dent.

An unknown force pulls me towards the door that I had just pushed myself through only moments before.

My hands slam against the leather of the seat as my nails dig though the fabric. Emily's eyes are the first object I see. They do not look scared just confused at my outburst.
