Cheater 25

The car engine roars to life as I sat down slowly on the back seat, the plush and slightly tarn leather brushing up against my arms. "Emily put your seatbelt on." Looking around me this 'seatbelt' I can not seem to find it.

"I'm sorry put your what on?" Confusion clear in my voice as Alex turn to look at me, my hands resting on both sides of me and the seat material rubbing against them.

His deep ocean blue eyes looking straight through me.

"The black strip with the metal end. It's on the side of the seat." Nodding slowly I turn my head to the side and find the object Alex was describing. The black seatbelt in pulled straight up on the seat.

Looking at the little metal clasp at the end I go to touch it slowly. Snapping my hand back and slamming it into the seat know behind me Alex plus Vance turn to look in my direction. The slight sound of sizzling fills the car.

Grinding my teeth a red line appears on my hand. Glaring at the new mark I turn sharply to Alex and then I turn back to the seat.

"It there silver in this buckle." I say slowly as I stare down the seatbelt. "Um I don't know. "

"Well now you know." His eyes scan over me for second. "You seem fine." I let out a low growl at him and move away from all silver clasps. His stupid confidents always getting in the way.

"Fine my butt." I grumble under my breath and he pretends not to hear me in the slightest, his head straight and his eyes scanning over the black road.

"So Vance I would like to know how you just magically knew my name." Alex speaks up in the car as trees wiz by. The blue sky high above as the car keeps moving quickly forward.

"I could hear you as you talked on the phone." Vances eyes roam slowly over the road as other cars go speeding past. The sun beating down with such heat that waves raise from the ground.

My fingers firmly wrapped around the edge of my seat as they quietly talk between each other. Alex has the duffle bag by his feet as his hands sit in his lap.

His blue eyes flickering to Vance every so often, their conversation not interesting in the slightest, something about cars. How colors make the car look right and what not.

Resting my back against the seat far away from the seat belts, my hair sitting in clumps on my shoulders.

Looking forward I get the glimpse of his face, his eyes directed in my direction, a smile settles on my face and returns he returns the look. Heat raises in my cheeks at his cute grin, turning away I look out the window.

Wind comes through the partly open window as trees zoom by, my thoughts skip to a memory of my past.

My feet filmy planted on the floor of the car.

Trees disappear into the distance as the bus climbs up the steep hill, the cool and crisp air of winter greets me from the seat. The pain I was feeling was a whole other level, my fingers wildly picking at the chair as the bus comes to a stop. "Hello everyone, we have reached Angel peak."

My memory like a stab to the chest. My fingers start to pick at the set as the car lurches foreward.

"So pretty girl, what's your secret." I look up startled at the question, Vance seems unaffected by his questions, his facial features still the same as his fingers glide over the steering wheel.

"What do you mean." My own curiosity in my words as I watch the old man eyes flicker to the side.

"Well you seem different." I watch Vance, who is slowly moving his eyes over the road as if he does not notice his question effects me. "I am?"
