Jade Leywin POV

As the amethyst inferno died down I landed besides Art, his purple flames had erased all the lava in the pit leaving solid rock

"Are you okay?" I asked seeing him bent over hands on his knees and panting, Regis popped out of his body in his puppy form

"Yeah... just... a bit tired" he replied

"Well maybe you should have thought about this before almost emptying your core, look at me! I've shrunk! Again!" Regis grumbled

"Also, sorry, I know his horns and core would have been useful but..." Art continued ignoring Regis while staring at the ground, the only thing left of Agrona was his scythe that now layed in front of Art

"Don't worry, I understand" I told him

"Well, at least we got the weapon" Art stated as he tried to take the scythe

Before his hand could touch it the scythe flew up escaping his touch and stopping in front of me, it hovered in place

"What the..." reaching out with my right hand I touched the scythe, immediately the weapon started shining and memories had been burned into my mind alongside a name

The light gradually disappeared and the scythe was nowhere to be seen, in its place a pair of menacing daggers were floating, they had a bright crimson blade, no guard, and an obsidian black hilt with golden engravings, on the pommel an amethyst crystal shined with power

"What happened?" Art asked

"I think the weapon just recognised me as its new master" I replied

"Okay, I know asuran weapons have a consciousness of their own but why would it choose you?"

"It's not asuran, this is djinn-made, it appears the one you met wasn't the only one that held a grudge to the dragons for what they did, they made this weapon in order to kill them and since we want to kill Kezess just like Agrona it recognised me as its master" I explained

"Yeah but why did it refuse me? I also want to take down the dragons"

"Due to your draconic body, it's not outright hostile towards you since it knows that you're Kezess's enemy as well but it seems to refuse to be touched by a dragon"

"Alright, does it have a name?"

"Yep, it's called [Dragon's demise], I guess whoever made this held quite the grudge, unexpected given the pacific nature of the djinns" I told him as I grabbed the daggers

The twin blades automatically attuned to my mana and the aether contained in the crystals spread across my body, something told me this thin layer would protect me from aether based attacks, the daggers also absorbed the aether lingering around my wound, immediately my regeneration kicked in and my flesh knitted itself together leaving no trace of the wound

I tried swinging them a bit trying some basic moves and damn, they're good, they make anything I have ever made look like some crude, lump of steel, not only they're as light as a feather but I can feel mana running through them as if they're an extension of my body, also it seems like the weapon can read my thoughts and adjusts the attacks helping me

Out of habit I tried to sheathe them on my belt only to remember I don't carry sheaths anymore, as I was pondering if I should have just stored them in my dimensional ring or if I should have conjured a pair of sheaths the daggers disappeared, I could still feel their presence though, they turned immaterial and went where my core used to be

*rumble*

"Woah!" Art exclaimed as he stumbled

The ground started shaking and cracking below us
