Jade Leywin POV

"Durden let's set up some earthen walls this way they'll only come from one direction so Mai and Adam won't get overwhelmed or flanked" I told Durden as we were making the final preparations before the boss fight

"Alright"

We started using earth magic to essentially fortify our position building walls that reached up to the ceiling, since we were dealing with ants trenches and moats wouldn't work.

After 2 hours or so of work (1 and a half to build everything and half an hour to replenish our mana back to full) we were ready

"Okay, we're all set here" I said

Art nodded and started walking towards the door with the rest of the team that would handle the boss.

"SCREEEEEECH!!!"

Soon after we heard the boss battle cry and I sensed several hundreds ants started moving towards us, minutes later they were here, I gathered fire and wind mana conjuring pure oxygen to fuel my flames creating small ball shaped mana barriers and compressing fire into them after that I created a second barrier around the first one and filled it with the pure oxygen I conjured and launched the orb at the ants

*BOOM*

A massive explosion erupted and everything in front of us turned into an inferno of bluish-white fire, the icy wind barrier I casted preemptively protected us from the shockwave and the heat

"HOLY SHIT! Are we even needed here, you just vaporised them!" Adam shouted

"I can't use that spell too often since we're underground if I overdo it with fire I'll kill us all" I replied

"How many times can you use it then?" Durden asked

"One maybe two" I told him

"Then keep them as last resort" Durden told me

As the flames quieted down a bit other ants started charging us, between the remaining flames and the walls there wasn't much they could do aside from running straight so they were basically sitting ducks for me, I started firing lightnings, wind blades, soundwaves and making earth spikes shot up the ground, we decided beforehand that Durden would focus solely on protecting us while I would attack, the few ants that survived the onslaught of my spells reached us so Adam and Mai quickly sprang to action cutting them to ribbons, it was easy for them since the ants were all gravely injured

We fell into a rhythm as we eliminated wave after wave of ants for an hour or so, until we heard one last shrill cry and the ants stopped coming, I guess they managed to kill the boss.

Arthur Leywin POV

"Okay, we're all set here" Jade said

I gave him a nod and started walking towards the massive door, Jasmine walking beside me with Helen and Angela following behind

The strategy for the boss was simple I and Jasmine would fight him head on keeping his focus on us, Angela would focus on protecting us with her wind spells while Helen would provide ranged support with her arrows

Walking into the boss room we looked around, the room was pretty big, not as enormous as the one we found Jade and Mai in but still it was easily 20 meters high, a good 40 meters long and 15 meters large, the room was dimly lit thanks to patches of luminous moss spread here and there, after reaching midway into the room we've seen it

The boss was a large ant, differently from the other ants we met in the dungeon which were no different from actual ants, size aside, this one was humanoid, it had only 4 limbs instead of four and a pair of wings sprouting from its back, the exoskeleton was black with dark purple reflexes, it was roughly 3 meters tall and had gleaming red eyes (A.N. yes it's Beru from Solo Leveling)
