Chapter 31

Jade Leywin POV

"Everyone ready?" Annabeth asked as we all finished gearing up

"Ready" we replied

"Then let's go"

We started going down the last floor of Hell's gate, things on this floor will be trickier since all mana beasts are A class, the hell hounds were absent and a new species showed up from what I could tell it was insect type

After a couple of hours we encountered the first group of mana beasts, there were 20 or so fire turtles and 15 of the new mana beasts, it was a 15 meters long centipede-like mana beast with flames coming out of its mandibles, it was crimson red on the back while its underbelly was glowing yellow (it's Centiskorch), it was fast very fast and due to its ability to run on vertical walls and even upside down our formation was almost useless

"Jade and I will handle the turtles, everyone else focus on the centipedes conjurers be careful this guys can sneak up to you in no time) Annabeth immediately issued her orders

I started blasting soundwaves against the turtles shattering their shell and rupturing their internal organs, these guys should be tough but against my sound magic they're basically sitting ducks, every now and then a turtle would come out of its shell to attack us but was swiftly beheaded seemingly out of nowhere, this was Annabeth's work

While they were struggling a little the others managed to handle the centipedes just fine, Leo built a fire barrier all around the ranged fighters, since the centipedes attacks were all fire based they couldn't do anything to his barrier, Frank was using arrows imbued with some special ability to pin them down so the augmenters could handle them easily Piper was using carefully aimed and timed soundwaves to protect the augmenters while Mai and Jasmine were cutting down the centipedes who were repelled by Leo's barrier

After an hour or so of fighting we finish cleaning up the mana beasts and continued down the tunnels

For the remainder of the day we continued encountering these groups of mana beasts, luckily since there were at least a couple of hours in between the encounters I was still full of mana, after a good 8 hours traveling down this scorching hot dungeon my mental stamina had taken its toll

"Guys I think I found the boss" I said as we were finally approaching the strongest mana signature in this dungeon

"You sure it's the boss?" Hazel asked me

"Well I hope it's the boss, this guy is clearly AA class and on the stronger side of the spectrum, so if he's not the boss I'm not sure I want to meet the actual boss" I replied, actually I knew this guy was the boss because there was no stronger mana signature in this dungeon but I couldn't tell them I could sense the entire floor

"Alright lead the way" Annabeth told me

We made our way towards the boss and I purposely stirred away from any mana beast so we wouldn't get any more tired, after a 40 minutes walk we reached a room easily 200 meters deep, 20 meters high and 70 meters large, at the very end of this room was a massive dog-like mana beast, it's overall appearance was the same as the hell hounds from the upper floors but this one was 7 meters tall and had 3 heads all of which were glaring at us

"It's a Cerberus, everyone prepare to engage, Percy focus on defense stay at the center and draw the middle head attention, Piper, Leo protect us from the side heads' ranged attacks, Hazel make sure it doesn't have a stable footing, Frank aim for its eyes take them out as soon as you can, Mai stay back with Calypso and protect her, Calypso use some buffs on everyone, Jasmine protect the other ranged fighters, Note, Jason with me we'll fight on close range, Kuro blast it with everything you have" Annabeth yelled her instructions
