Jade Leywin POV

"Maybe you should return first, if both of you stay away too long it might be troublesome as communication from outside is quite difficult" Mordain told me as it became clear Arthur wouldn't be back any time soon

"Don't worry, I'll give Arthur a ride back to Xyrus City once he comes back" Avier spoke up

"*sigh* Yeah you're right, I guess we shouldn't be away from the Castle too long" I agreed

"Very well, Evascir will lead you to the exit, once out you'll find yourself in the middle of the beast glades" Mordain explained and I nodded

"What about you Chul? Are you going to wait for Arthur or will you come to the Castle with me?" I asked

"I'll follow you, there's nothing here for me to do aside from training" Chul replied

We followed Mordain back to the amphitheater looking room where Evascir was waiting for us, besides him there was an emerald casket which I guess contains elder Rinia's body, I manipulated the ambient mana to make the casket follow us levitating a couple of centimetres from the ground, I refuse to just store it in my ring

Evascir led us to another series of maze-like tunnels until the paved, smooth stone floor turned into rough bedrock

"Follow this tunnel to its end, it's a straight line so it's impossible to get lost, you'll find yourselves in the remains of an abandoned phoenix wyrm nest, I would accompany you to the end but I'm afraid my mana signature might be detected" Evascir explained as he stopped walking

"Oh right now that you mention it, Chul do you know how to suppress your mana signature while still using mana?" I asked

"I do not know such a technique but I do know how to make my signature resemble that of a human" Chul said

"That will do" I stated lifting off the ground and flying down the tunnel at high-speed Chul following me

"Hey Chul, do you mind if we make a little detour?" I asked as we flew down the tunnel

"Since we won't be able to go to Alacrya until your brother is back I don't mind but may I ask why?"

I simply shifted my gaze to the casket and Chul nodded in understanding

We reached the end of the tunnel in a few minutes and emerged in the beast glades, I started emitting the same warding aura I used in our trip to the Hearth and we headed south-east

We reached the great desert of Darv and I started looking around, several minutes later I noticed the abnormal concentration of ambient aether and landed

Retrieving the medallion from my ring I infused a bit of mana into it and the door leading to the Sanctuary opened and we went down the staircase as the door closed behind us

"Stay close to me Chul" I instructed

"Why? And what is this place?"

"This is an ancient shelter built by your father's people, the djinns, we discovered it some time ago and we're currently using it as a secret hideout, as for why well this place is protected by several aether arts, I have no idea how they work so the only way to cross these corridors is by having one of these medallions, I only have one with me but I think that if you stick close enough and I cover you with my mana I should be able to trick this thing, hopefully this will make both of us immune to the warding spells" I explained

Holding the medallion in my right hand we made our way through the labyrinthine structure of the tunnels, I could see how the aether imbued into the medallion reacted with the environmental aether to make us immune to the time dilating effect of whatever spell the djinn casted
