It had been a day or so since I had woken up from my... explosive slumber and I was trying to sleep on the cold ground since I didn't rebuild my nest when I was once again awoken by Stormfly, Astrid,Tuffnut, and the vermin. Opening my eyes, I let out an irritated sigh as I sat up.

y/n / Strax : "you had better have a good explanation as to why you woke me up."

After a short translation from the palico Astrid stepped forwards.

Astrid : "The edge is under siege by the dragon hunters, and we need your help."

Tuffnut : "they have ruffnut!"

Looking out to the sea my eyes widened in surprise as I spotted at least twenty ships all armed to the teeth with hunters and some ships even had some anti monster weapons...

y/n / Strax : "wonderful... just wonderful...where are the others?"

Astrid : "they had to go rescue trader Johan from dragon hunters."

y/n / Strax : "so it's just us? *sigh* Why am I not surprised... I'll lay down cover."

Taking in a deep breath I draw in air from my chest vent and mix it with dragon element before rocketing off into the sky high above the hunters making multiple sonic booms as I fly. Speeding up even further my jets turn that same searing white color as before. Swooping down i do a barrel roll nearly avoiding some boulders that were flung up by catapults, flying just above the water i expelled more dragon element from my wings accidentally making red orbs of dragon energy behind me as i fly which after a moment all erupt in a violent explosion of red and white splintering and destroying whatever they come into contact with. Upon seeing this a wicked grin creeps across my face.

y/n / Strax : "well that's new... I wonder what else I can do."

Quickly darting between the ships, I release more of those orbs of dragon energy which all after a few seconds erupt in a violent explosion as I notice a familiar red-haired Viking alongside Heather making me let out a hiss in anger.

Dagur : "OH COME ON! How come he gets an upgrade!? Don't just stand there, attack!!!"

As he says this he throws one of the hunters over the railing making him slam into the floor with a thud making me chuckle slightly. I quickly fly up out of their range and admire my damage.

y/n / Strax : "I see why the stupid bug enjoys wrecking human stuff, its entertaining."

As I hover there for a moment, I spot two ships quickly approaching the edge. Upon seeing this I pick up speed to try to intercept them but as I'm just about to reach them a volley of large metal spears, flaming arrows and some flaming substance gets lobbed at the ships completely destroying them, looking to the source I saw Tuffnut celebrating on a large ballista above Astrid's house before he quickly gets picked up by Stormfly and moved to a new location.

y/n / Strax : "huh... I didn't think they had that sort of weaponry..."

Turning my attention back to the other ships an idea came to me.

y/n / Strax : "what if i could use that beam attack like how i did with the crimson flares? Eh, worth a shot."

Flying high up into the sky I circle around the hunters' ships before stopping and charging massive amounts of dragon energy in my wings and after a moment I release a large beam of white-hot dragon energy into the water. As the beam collides with the water it instantly turns to steam around the beam causing a massive steam explosion and ripping through a few ships in the process leaving them almost completely destroyed even after that the water rushed back to fill the space that had been created dragging three other ships into a whirlpool and smashing them into one another.
