I expected flight to be rough and turbulent

I expected flight to be rough and turbulent. Yeosang pushed off the cliff face without much effort and soared high above the ground in seconds. It took me a moment to realize that he was purposely going much slower than everyone else. Probably in an effort to keep me calm. I was internally grateful for it. While I was scared to death of being so high up and potentially falling, it was a rush to feel the wind whip past my face. This was something not very many people got to experience and the fact that I was here now was liberating.

Finally pushing past my fear, I smiled reveling in the way Yeosang glided through the low clouds towards the castle. The closer the castle got, the more beautiful it was. It really did look as if it rose from the rocks of the gorge. Stones wove together with expert architectural design forming a massive home and in the center, enough of the rock had been cleared out to form a level opening covered with stone paths. Yeosang angled his wings to aid our descent as he dropped below the castle walls. Once safely on the ground, he crouched again to let me dismount. Mingi coming to help me down this time.

"What did you think my lady? Told you he wouldn't let you fall."

My legs were wobbly standing there. The fear and adrenaline from what had just happened dissipating. Despite that though I had a large smile on my face.

"That was amazing." I said breathlessly.

Mingi grinned while attempting to tame the mess of my hair thanks to the wind. My mother approached from behind Mingi, pulling me into a hug. The tension from the last few days suddenly melted out of me. Being here felt like a safety blanket. We were far from Tregeron and the men that had chased us, seeking refuge in a fortress owned by one of the seven royal families. Someone would have to be incredibly foolish to try anything here.

"Let's get you to your rooms." Hongjoong motioned for everyone to follow him.

The castle was almost too big. It took forever to get anywhere here with as many rooms and hallways and levels there were. Mother and I were given two rooms on the same floor that Hongjoong stayed on. Something about how it would be best to keep us closer in case something did happen, and we needed protection. All I cared about was that my mother was close. She had been given the room right across from my own. Hongjoong's quarters were located at the end of the hall and a few of the other royals had decided to take a couple of rooms on the same floor.

As tired as I was I still had the ache in my chest that begged me to check on Yunho. The sun had begun to set outside making it even darker than it should have been being in the gorge. Plenty of light was provided as castle staff had started lighting torches shortly before the sun had dipped below the cliff. A knock on my door had me turn before it opened.

"I've been instructed to show you to dinner." My guest bowed dramatically in the doorway.

"Wooyoung!"
