A'ja Wilson August 1st, 2023 Las Vegas, Nevada __________________ "Whew I had a day!" I said no absolutely no one as I walked in the house, immediately taking off these heels. It was 10:30pm and I had just got back from grabbing dinner with lish. She was off to the hotel with Rhyne and their team, so unfortunately our time together was cut short. I went straight to the bathroom, and turned on the shower before starting to undress. I slipped on my bathrobe, and washed my face really good before hoping into the shower. The hot water immediately started to alleviate any soreness I had from tonight. After a good shower I got out and went to get my behind in bed. I had an early morning tomorrow and I knew I was gone be tired. While I laid in bed I could not fall asleep so I got on instagram to save some time. I scrolled and liked a few of my mutual posts, before going to watch stories. I ended up on y/n story at some point which was a few game highlights and the very last post made my heart skip a beat.

"Naw I'm finna go meet her best friend for lunch," I told Rui as I say the phone on the counter to do my hair. I slicked my baby hairs and thee it in a lil bun type of situation. "Her bestie? She cool with you even tho her friend not?" He asked as I nodded. "It's a long situation. Basically she wanna what my side of the story cause she don't want me and A to break up," "Oh damn. W friend then I guess," he said making me laugh. "Nah for real. She don't know how much I appreciate her. Alright y'all be good! No fighting," I said to the boys as I walked out, locking the door behind me. "Alright Ru, imma call you back when I leave," "Alright gangy, love," "Love," I responded back, hanging up. I headed towards the restaurant. When I made it I saw lish sitting in the car, on the phone with someone. I tapped her window scaring her. She rolled the window down laughing. "Girl you scared the hell out of me!" "My bad sis. You want me to go grab us a table?" She shook her head unbuckling her seatbelt. "Nah I'm ready. Say hi to your baby mama," she said making me laugh. "Yo whatttt," I said dying of laughter. "I'm finna hang up. You irritating," I heard A's voice come through the car speakers. "Hey baby A," I called out, happy to hear her voice. "Hey y/n/n. Well I'll call you later lish, I gotta go meet this lady to pick up my cake," she said and they said good bye. We walked inside and got sat immediately since it was a Wednesday at noon. "So, what's up y/n/n. What happened?" She started off after we gave the waiter our drink orders. "Okay I don't know if you talked to A that night or not, but we both went out. She went out with on of the team and Angel, and I went out with Jaylen and Rui. All I can remember is the time period from me arriving at the venue, and me waking up the next morning. Rui said we made it home safely, no bullshit happened or anything like that. His wife was with us, some hoe Jay had, and one of my old friends from Cali, India," I said as she nodded. "So y'all was just chillin at the crib type shit?" "Right. Apparently A said she called me twice that night, I never got the call or anything cause I didn't have my phone that whole night. I gave it to Rui because I had no pockets, and some how it ended up in the bag of Jay's hoe the morning after. I had to use find my iPhone to find my shit and whole time the bitch was tryna steal it," i explained. She sighed rubbing her face. "You dead ass? That's what all this nonsense is over?" She asked as I nodded. Out loud it sounded ridiculous, and it truly was. "Man, fuck this. You said you free today right?" I nodded as she typed away on her phone. "A's Foundation Gala is next week you are going right?" She asked and I nodded again. "Of course, wouldn't miss it for anything," I said smiling a bit. "Good, first we finna go meet her at her house cause y'all finna talk this out and clearly y'all need a damn mediator. After that, y'all are gonna make up, and imma go to my hotel to get ready to leave, and app will be well in the world," she said, matter of factly, folding her hands. "Ay ay Captain," "Good, Ooou, food!" She cheered. I couldn't blame her though I was starving and this burger looked so damn good. We ate and talked a little more about league stuff and what not before leaving. We drove the quick fifteen minute drive to A's house and as well pulled up I saw her walking into her house carrying two boxes. She just have just gotten here. I got out and met her at the door, taking the boxes from her hand. "What the- oh shit you scared the hell out of m," she said placing her hand on her chest. "Hey bestie I brought you a gift," Allisha said gesturing towards me. "Girl get on," she laughed. She opens the door and walked in. "You can set them on the table," she told me and I followed. "Alright you and you come sit," Lish said making A'ja look at her crazy. "Girl what? I'm busy I got stuff to do Lish," "Aht. That can wait. I promise you if I didn't think it was worth your time I would've left y/n ass in the restaurant," I gasped in shock. Like damn I'm still right here? "Anyways. Y/n you have the taking pen," she said handing me a pen. "A, you don't talk until you get the talking pen, understood?" She chucked shaking her head. "Yes Ms. Gray," she waved towards me and I reexplained the entire situation. Once I was finished I passed lish the pen. She placed it into A's lap who was boohoo crying. "Come here pretty girl. Don't cry," I said holding my arms out. She shook her head, sniffling. "I'm sorry. I should have heard you out," she said wiping her face. "A, c'mere babe," I repeated. She got up and came to me, as I pulled her into my lap. "I was hurt but I understand. I put you in a place where there was room doubt and I take responsibility for that. As your girl there's shit I should have nipped in the bud early ok and I didn't and for that I apologize. I promise you it will not happen again," I said looking her in her eyes. She smiled and simply pressed a kiss onto my lips. I smiled into the kiss hearing clapping. "Yay! Love this for y'all okay, I gotta get going, I'mma call y'all," Lish said as she stood up grabbing her keys. She hugged us and headed out. "You got a great best friend A. She one of a kind for sure," I said still holding my girlfriend in my arms. "Yeah I know. I got the best wife too," she said making me blush. My phone began to ring in my pocket and I sighed. Who was fucking up our moment. I saw it was Candace FaceTiming and answered immediately. "Wassup Candy?" I answered as A poked her head in. "Hey y/n, oh damn hey A. Damn I'm still not used to that," she said making me laugh. "Anyways I guess this is good I can tell y'all at the same time, and break the news once," "Candace Nicole Parker," I said. She was procrastinating and making me nervous. "Okay okay I quit. I'll be back available next game," she said making us cheer. "Awe yesss I miss playing with you!" I said as A agreed. "Same I miss y'all so much. Oh shit Goose no! Imma call y'all later this boy is about to break my darn tv," she said before hanging up. I laughed as A smiled brightly. I looked over her once and too the time to notice she was still wearing the necklace I got her. I smiled at that. "So, wife huh?" I asked as she giggled. I got my baby back y'all.
