Another positive. Followed by another.

Three positive tests lay together upon the marble countertop, and Michael was on his knees crying out in complete and total joy at the turn of events. After decades of dreaming, years of longing for a family to call his own, the time had finally come. The heavens had finally blessed him with all he had ever wished and dreamt of. And on valentines day, the day of love.

He sniffed and rubbed the tears away, only to allow more to fall. The look upon his features was one to not soon forget. His eyes misted over and swirled with immense joy, rendered speechless in every sense of the word.

Sarah sat quietly upon the toilet, also unable to speak, as her own tears of joy quietly slipped from her eyes, a hand placed carefully upon her abdomen.

New life was quietly growing within. The perfect union between herself and Michael lay just under her touch.

His hands soon joined hers, as Michael pressed kisses along her stomach in an attempt to reach the child within.

"Hi there little one, it's daddy. I don't know if you can hear me, but I love you so much. You'll never know how much."

Moments passed quietly between them as he continued to gaze upon her, tears still steadily flowing down his cheeks. Michael was over the moon, his entire soul alight with joy and love. He truly was beginning to give up on the idea of starting a family. With a past like his and past attempts at love failing him, it was looking more and more to be but a distant dream.

But no longer.

Michael's fingertips tenderly stroke Sarah's stomach, pressing kisses along her flesh once more. "You are a true miracle for us, you know? You are already so deeply and immensely loved."

Fingers splayed tenderly across the smooth flesh found below Sarah’s navel, kissing and caressing tenderly, carefully. Michael’s touch was soft and fleeting, warm, protective. His tears continued to slip from his eyes,  falling freely without restraint.

Pulling her up into his arms, he stood and carried her back into the bedroom. Upon laying down, his lips went straight to her stomach. The joy within Michael’s heart was quickly reaching new heights, rendering him unable to think straight.

Not that he didn’t mind, of course.

“Do you have any idea as to how much I have dreamt of this day?” He whispered. “You’ve been all but a dream, little one.”

Sarah’s fingers ran through his wavy ebony curls with a sigh, listening intently as he spoke to their child. There was no doubt in her mind that Michael was going to be the absolute best father in the world.

With all he does for children now has been more than enough preparation for fatherhood.

“We have a whole amusement park! And animals, lots and lots of animals you’re gonna love!”

His voice became soft and tender as the moments passed, as the tale of how life would be upon the arrival of their child weaved magically around them. Michael weaved the tale as if already speaking to the child in person, describing life to the utmost. Of the beauty of Neverland, the animals, the rides– of how childhood would be absolutely breathtaking and memorable just the same. His voice trembled as he continued, soon bringing the giving tree to the conversation.

“Daddy has a special tree he can't wait to show you. I’ve written so many songs there, my baby. I’m gonna write so many for all of us, just wait. I hope you enjoy sitting up there with me someday.”

He soon began weaving of how he and Sarah first met. From the shyest and humble of beginnings to the here and now awaiting the arrival of their precious bundle of joy.
