Tape over her mouth,
an x written in sharpie on it
Knees to her chest, struggle she emits,
she admits her sweaty palms are slipping out the rope
Tied behind her back, escape is what she hopes for
Locked in this basement, darkness all around her
She can kick, she can scream but no one comes to help her
They can't hear her pounding, her shouting,
The concrete is 6 feet deep, She's howling
in pain, begging for escape
She's tied to a pole, limited access, Blackness is all she sees,
as far as the eye can see, I see,
People above living their normal lives
Waking up, going to work, cheating on their wives
The lies pile up in this electrical world
The electric box is on an overload
Too many plugs in an outlet, you're gonna get shocked, no doubt about it
Not her,
Not the one tied to a pole in the basement surrounded by darkness,
Suffering for the freedom the people upstairs use to overload the box
Be more thankful for the freedom you're given
Do something right, something worth it, worth living
You've been granted with actions, words, freedom, and life.
Speak for those who have tape over their mouth with an x written on it.
Act for those who are trapped in that basement.
But most of all,
Live for those stuck in that hostage situation
