'I wonder where grandmother is..." Luke questioned as Jace and Luke were walking the courtyard while the men were training.

"Probably killing Daemon." Jace said hopefully.

'Jace....'' Luke warned, he didn't much like Daemon either but he knew better than to say it out loud. Their mother was so smitten with him. But he was controlling and manipulative. Rhaenyra didn't spend much time with her sons of Harwin's blood so their visits to the capital were always welcomed.

''See? I told you this would still be here. Grandmother is sentimental." Jace picked up a sword, one of the old swords from when they were training as children. ''And you thought you could swing Criston's morning star.''

''And you almost took your own head off.'' Luke counted. ''What's your problem?''

''Everyone's staring at us.'' Jace told him as his eyes shifted around

''Hyah!'' they heard the men dualling behind them.

''No one would question me being heir to Driftmark... if... if I looked more like Ser Laenor Velaryon than Ser Harwin Strong.'' Jace hissed, he knew the truth, Davina had told him years ago but still she loved him. It seemed like his own mother resented his bloodline even though he had no control over who Rhaenyra fucked.

''It doesn't matter what they think.'' Luke reminded him, they heard a crowd cheering and a not so distant grunting they ran forward to get a better look as the crowd gasped. Aemonds sword whooshed through the air.

"Well done, my Prince. You'll be winning tourneys in no time." Aemond smiled as the crowd applauded him.

''I don't give a shit about tourneys." Aemond remarked then he saw Jace and Luke staring at him ''Nephews... have you come to train?''

"Hello Aemond." They echoed.

"Welcome back... you bring your parents this time?" Aemond questioned and they nodded annoyed. "Mother will be so thrilled." Aemond added sarcastically.

''Open the gate!"

''Hold your nerve, my Queen.'' Otto remarked. ''What we do, we do for the good of the realm.''

"I feel sick." Davina said bringing a hand to her throat, feeling the bile rising, between Viserys fading more and more and now Corlys still missing. ''He may yet live.''

"There is always hope." Seamus agreed but he knew that Davina and Rhaenys and Corlys were not the biggest fans of one another, perhaps it was for the best if he faded away.

''But we must be prepared if he does not.'' Vaemond remarked.

"The realm has enjoyed a long peace, a credit to the work of both Jaehaerys and Viserys, but the threat of war looms and may arrive on our shores." Otto told her ''When it does, will you want a child at the command of the greatest fleet in Westeros?''

''We must, of course... act in the interest of our subjects.'' Davina agreed "And my babies and grand babies." She added. Mainly her children the rest would come second. But she wouldnt see Jace and Luke and Joff hurt because of this.

''The next Lord of the Tides will be deeply in your debt, Your Grace. As will Driftmark... in all its strength." Vaemond encouraged.

"Luke doesn't want it." Davina remarked. 'He still gets sea sick, I would rather it stay with a man that has lived the seas. Luke would be miserable."

"You are a good queen and driftmark stands behind you and your sons, your choices." Vaemond assured.

"You don't sit the throne yet." Davina reminded him.
