Tom

I cannot stop thinking about Y/N. It's infuriating. Even when I sorta like her, she irritates me. I'm frustrated that these weird feelings keep coming up and I'm even more frustrated that we seem to never have enough alone time to work through them without being interrupted or getting into a fight. I am desperate to figure out what the hell is going on.

People around me talk and drink in their formal attire. I feel like my tie is getting tighter and tighter. I look out to the garden, full of people, and scan for someone to talk to. I'm getting tired of talking with my parents' friends about how much I've grown. I spot Jane and Y/N on the dance floor – yes, dance floor. I wasn't lying when I said Jane was sparing nothing for this party – and spot Harry not too far away. I grab a glass of champagne and make my way over to the dance floor to speak to someone about anything other than my damn movie.

"Ah, there he is!" Y/N shouts. She's had a few drinks. Her hair is now completely off her neck – she had it down and straight earlier. It cascaded down her bare back quite beautifully – and she's holding two glasses of champagne in her hands. "Come dance!"

"I haven't had nearly enough to drink to start dancing, darling," I laugh, even though I'd love to join her for a dance. Again, she's infuriating. "Jane, where is Ben?" I look around to find him, to no avail.

"He should be here any minute." She winks at me and continues her dance with Y/N. They are two peas in a pod, let me tell you.

I stand with Harry and watch the dance floor jump and move to the song being played by the DJ. When the song ends, I hear his voice over the speakers.

"Happy birthday, Tom!" Everyone around me cheers and nudges me around. I hate it. "I've just been informed that there is one last surprise for you tonight." Oh, God. What else could Jane have possibly done? I suddenly feel someone tap my shoulder and I turn around to see Zendaya standing in front of me.

"Happy birthday!" I'm speechless.

"What the hell?" I wrap her in a hug and feel myself getting emotional. "How–"

"Ben and Jane called me, we worked it out, and here I am!" Ben steps beside me and throws an arm around my shoulder. I turn and engulf him in a hug as more tears form in my eyes.

"God, you guys are amazing."

Now that Z is here, I feel 10 times better. I still can't stop thinking about Y/N, but at least I have someone to really talk to all night. Of course, I'd never tell her that she may be a little right about my feelings toward Y/N. Though, I wouldn't say I love her.

"Hi, stranger," Y/N appears beside me as Z excuses herself to God knows where. "How ya doing?"

"I'm overwhelmed, but in a good way." I smile. "This is actually a lot of fun." I watch Ben and Jane dance together on the dance floor and feel my heart swell.

"Aren't they sweet?" Y/N nods in the direction of the new couple and smiles. "Took them long enough."

"I'll say," I finish off my champagne and turn to face her. "Hey–"

"Alright everyone, we're gonna slow it down a little bit, so grab your favorite dance partner and enjoy a slow song with me," the DJ's voice rings through my ears. I glance at the dance floor and back at Y/N. Fuck it.

"Care to join me?" I hold my hand out for her and she nods before placing her hand in mine and walking to the dance floor with me. Her arms drape around my neck as I place my hands around her waist. Her skin is cool. A small shiver runs down my spine. Maybe this was a bad idea.
