It's no lie that you weren't the first one to catch my eye.
There were a few before you,
all of which had many admirable qualities;
funny, kind, competitive, and gallant
but when I looked into their eyes,
they never shone, there wasn't a twinkle or a shine in sight.
And I knew they weren't meant to be,
so it was alright when we let things go.
but when I met you and saw your eyes for the first time,
there was something about you I couldn't quite place.
Your smile gave me flushed cheeks,
and your eyes made me feel at ease.
they are the most beautiful ones I have ever seen;
more beautiful than all of the autumn colors combined.
although they are similar to mine in color,
they are smooth and dark,
giving you a perfect and completed look.
yes, I know, why rant about eyes, that's so weird.
but it's the fact that I love every little thing about you.
That's what I'm getting at.
I love your eyes though.
They're perfectly beautiful, and I love getting lost in them.
They're the last thing I see when you lean in for a kiss
and the first thing I want to see in the morning.
