I brought the blanket up to my face. I inhaled deeply. The scent was heavenly.

"Definitely him."

"You know him by his smell?"

"Yeah. Is that weird?"

"I guess not, but I thought you said he was your boss."

"He is. We hang out sometimes."

"Here we are." He pulled into a room.

"Make sure that everyone knows I moved."

"The nurses at the station will tell anyone who asks." He smiled.

"No call him."

"Who?" He set the brakes on my bed again.

"Ashton."

"With all due respect, I don't think that it's necessary to call him."

He began putting my IV bags on the hooks above my bed.

"So what did they say about Alex?" I asked.

"Well, some say he's a psychotic killer that thought you were dead and left. Others say it was an accident."

"I wouldn't say he's a psychotic killer, but this definitely wasn't an accident. He's definitely some kind of crazy. I just wish I would've seen that sooner."

I sighed heavily. It was getting harder to keep my thoughts in order, so I just talked instead.

"You have a girlfriend?" I asked.

"Well I work pretty long hours so I don't really have time for dating."

"So you're hooking up with other nurses?" I raised an eyebrow.

He laughed. "Pretty much."

"I had a girl that I hooked up with when I was in high school." I said.

"A girl?"

"Yeah. She was curious and I was horny, so three or four times a week she would come over for 'homework' and we would fuck."

"Wow. That's uh, well it's a lot more than I thought I would ever hear from someone I just met." He said awkwardly.

I giggled at him. "Sorry."

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in." The nurse said as he began to set up the other machines.

The heart monitor turned on.

"Ashton!" I said happily as I saw him.

The beeping on the machine became slightly quicker.

"Hey Lily." He smiled.

"Wait I'm mad at you."

"Why?"

"Because you didn't wake me up when you brought the blanket."

He giggled. "I thought it was something serious."

"This is serious. I wanted to see you." I began pouting. "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to see you before I went to work."

"I like that suit. It looks extra good on you."

"Alright Ms. Brooks, you're all set. Press your button if you need anything. Mr. Irwin, I just gave her some morphine, so she might be a little out of it for a while." The nurse said before walking out of my room.

"I like morphine. It's nice." I sighed.

"I bet it is." Ashton laughed.

"Tell me a story."
