"Adelante, explica." Carlos sits down in front of me. (Go on, explain)
"Los hombres que la estaban vigilando me avisaron de que el FBI se pasó por su casa a hacer preguntas. Todo parecía ir bien hasta que Alex llegó y poco después ella se fue. Tenía que asegurarme de que todo estaba bien." (The men watching her told me that the FBI visited, all looked okay until Alex arrived and she left. I had to make sure she was okay)
"Así que te llevó toda la noche asegurarte de que ella estaba bien?" He says knowingly. (So it took you the whole night to make sure she was okay)
"Quizá me haya saltado alguna parte." I tell him. (Maybe I skipped some parts)
His face says it all, though I can tell he is not surprised.

"La comida es en una hora, comeremos todos juntos. Compórtate." I shout his way before he is too far away. (Lunch in an hour, we will eat all together. Behave)
After arranging some stuff with some minor problems we had with one of our shipments the time for lunch finally arrives. I get there first following my brother and a little later comes Danielle.
"Welcome back Danielle, sit down please." Carlos says with a forced smile.
"I explained everything to him, it will be okay," I tell her. "Let's just enjoy this lunch."
