Chapter 27: Visitors

Danni

 Rachael is at my house right now, although we still have school today and tomorrow and then we have Winter Break.

 Zak has already 'moved in' for the month and he's prepared for the twins.

 Right now Amina and I are eating lunch in the cafeteria.

 "I'm excited to meet the twins. They're coming today, right?"

 "Yeah, they're already here. Zak and I are leaving after next period since we'll just have study hall anyways."

 "I wanna leave too."

 "If you can get out of eighth and ninth period, we'll be in my car. Just let me know if you can or not so I'm not sitting there for a half hour."

 "Got it. Your boyfriend told me he's Jaxen's favorite?"

 "Yeah, he is but I'm Cowen's favorite so it doesn't matter."

 "Well, I'll be both of their favorites."

 "Yeah sure."

 "Amina can't get out of her classes so looks like it's just us."

 "Fine by me. I'm so excited to see Jaxen. I'm sure he's missed me."

 "According to Rachael, he has."

 I pull into our driveway.

 "Can you pick up the Chinese food we ordered, please?"

 "Alright, gimme your keys. I'll be back." I toss him my keys and he pulls out of the driveway.

 I enter the door and am welcomed by the sound of children crying.

 "Where's that boyfriend of yours?"

 "He's getting our Chinese food." I head towards Cowen and pick him up.

 "For all of us?"

 "No, just the two of us. We ordered it before we left school."

 "Speaking of school, why aren't you there?"

 "I have study hall for the last two periods."

 "Oh okay. I'm assuming Zak is staying here, yeah?"

 "Mhm."

 "In your room?"

 "Yeah."

 "Good because I brought a pack n play down there already and I don't want to bring it back up."

 "Lazy ass."

 "Language."

 "Don't even start with that language crap. You've never cared before."

 "Well I decided to start caring."

 "When?"

 "Just now."

 "Yeah ok."

 "I got the food." Zak comes in.

 "Thank goodness you're here. He won't shut up." She says handing Jaxen to Zak as soon as he closes the door.

 Jaxen stops crying once he's in Zak's arms.

 "You need to teach me your ways." She looks at him curiously. "You guys go Christmas shopping yet?"
