Since the morning, all the guests started to arrive in their house. The house was looking more cheerful by accepting the happiness of the family members.
Indian marriages are traditionally multi-day affairs and involve many intricate ceremonies; such as painting of hands and feet of the bride, which is called Mehndi. Garlands are presented to guests for honour, instead of corsages and lots of flowers or rose petals are thrown for good luck. The wedding is divided into three parts - pre-wedding, main and post-wedding. The pre-wedding includes all the preparations and a party at night, before where each side of the family can meet each other, dance together and have fun. A priest (pandit), who has selected the day of wedding, based on the bride and groom's horoscopes, conducts a prayer with family members to provide the couple with a happily married life. All the arrangements were almost ready.
