It was the evening of Halloween, and Amaris found herself in a desolate hallway with a bucket of chickens blood, painting words onto an old stone wall.

"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of Slytherin, Beware"

Amaris wasn't doing this so she could actually go along with Toms plan and kill all of the muggle-borns, no. She was doing this purely to fuck with dumbledore. Fidi was under her command now, and Amris had ordered her to only ever protect students. The basilisk was no longer a threat.

Fucking with Dumbledore was the main reason she was doing this, but there were other bonuses. She planned on revealing herself as Lady Slytherin to the Slytherin students soon. Their taunting had started to turn into down-right bullying, pushing her down the stairs of hitting her with bat bogey hexes from behind, And she was tired of it.

And so she finished off her writing, vanished the leftover blood back into the kitchens where she'd gotten it from and went back to her dorm. The other students would be coming out of the Halloween feast soon and they'd find her artwork.
"Let the entertainment commence"

Laying on her bed, the old leather-bound diary resting on the sheets In front of her, she dipped her quill into her inkpot and pressed the nib to the yellowing paper.

"I did what you asked. The chamber is open and a warning has been given"

Tom was reeling at the easy victory. He hadn't expected his diary to fall into Amris' hands, but he was more than glad it had. The girl was a complete enigma, a puzzle he couldn't help but want to crack.  Sure, she may have seemed bland and ordinary at first, but she had proven herself as the complete opposite over the past few weeks.

Despite his lack of mental control over the girl, she was following along with every one of his words that passed the page. Tom wasn't entirely sure if it was because she was just a naive little girl, or if she genuinely hated Dumbledore as much as she claimed to. He hated to admit it, but a tiny part of him hoped it was the latter; everyone had always loved Dumbledore, believed him to be the greatest wizard. But Amris didn't think that. Amris hated the old fool just as much as he.

And now she had opened his chamber and set his basilisk into the school. He hadn't believed she'd actually done so at first, but after her pointless reassurance going on for at least an hour, he had asked her to just show him the memory. And so she did. He had little to no doubt now that Amris potter-black was on his side. He just needed to convince her to bring him a body, and his ultimate plan of world domination could commence. And perhaps with a certain red-headed girl by his side.

Amris potter- Black was definitely not on his side. She had managed it. She had actually managed to fool the dark lord. Yes... it may be his 16-year-old self but Amris was sure that it was still a feat no one else could claim as theirs. He hadn't believed her about the chamber at first, much to Amris' annoyance. But with a little help from some... edited memories of her meeting with the basilisk, he had fallen right into her trap.

"Excuse me, Amris?" A feminine voice asked.

Turning her head away from her book and in the direction of the voice, she saw Harry's friend: Hermione granger, standing unsurely a few steps away, peering at Amris with a look of determination etched into her features.

"Yes?" Amris asked politely in return. She didn't like Granger, but she was the most bearable of her stupid brother's friends.

"I was wondering if I could ask you some things," the bushy-haired girl said.

"Go on" Amris replied, turning back to her book about enchanted objects; she had been searching the library in hopes of finding out what Toms diary could be. She had yet to have any luck.

"You're a Slytherin..." Hermione stated, moving slightly closer to Amris and dropping her voice to barely above a whisper.

"Congratulations for noticing" Amris replied, her face blank as her eyes searched the pages of the open book.

Hermione let out a frustrated puff of air from her nose and swooped down to sit in the wooden chair beside Amris.
She leant in as she spoke "it's just, we-I was wondering if you knew anything about the chamber of secrets. You know, haven't you heard anything about it in the common room?"

Ah, it was about that. Amris hadn't meant for things to play out as they did; Harry and his friends had been the first to find her beautiful artwork. And since then, it seems the three had taken it upon themselves to get involved- to solve whatever mystery they believe to be at play. Amris wondered what their reaction would be if they ever found out the truth.

With a quirked brow and a tiny smirk, Amris asked "Did my brother set you up to this? You know, you should really stay out of others business"

The Gryffindor girls face went as red as the tie around her neck as she shook her head.
"No- I mean y-"
Instead of carrying on with her self-contradiction, Hermione slumped in her seat and bowed her head.

"The boys asked me to brew Pollyjuice potion so we can sneak into the Slytherin common room, but.. but I won't do it. Its- it's wrong,  It's illegal for merlin's sake!"

Hermione was at her absolute wit's end. Ron and Harry hadn't stopped pestering her about finding a way for them to sneak into the Slytherin common room ever since they had first found the blood painted words in the line hallway.
If she was honest with herself, Hermione didn't care who was behind it, she just wanted to make sure the situation didn't progress past threats and hypotheticals. She didn't want herself or her friends to become targets, yet that was exactly what was going to happen if she played along with the boys' childishness.

When the boys had first proposed the idea of pollyjuice potion she had thought they were joking. It was illegal for underage wizards and witches to brew the potion, how could they have even asked that of her? She didn't dare to think about what the headmaster would think about it. She could get expelled...

"Sneaking into the Slytherin common room, huh? Sounds far too cunning for it to be something Gryffindors would do.en again, its incredibly Gryffindorish for you all to think second years could pull it off." Amris snorted.

Shaking her head "well- I-" Hermione covered her face with her hands "I- no, we need to find out who threatened the school"

By now Amris was completely enjoying her little chat with granger, perhaps in a slightly sadistic way but she was enjoying it nevertheless.
"Do you really need to, though? My brother may be the so-called saviour and you may be his best friend but that doesn't mean you need to be a full-time hero."

"I know" Hermione whispered. Her face was still shielded by her hands as she slumped in her seat. It seemed that the pressure of being one of Harry Potters best friends had been waging on the young girl way more than either Amris or Hermione had realized. Amris felt a song of sympathy in her heart for the Gryffindor at this.

"But Harry and Ron... they don't see it that way. They really think it's up to us to save the school. I have to find a way"

Amris bit her lip and sighed defeatedly. She would hello granger out, just this once. Amris knew that the three wouldn't find anything out from the Slytherins but if it meant Hermione would feel a little better than Amris supposed it would be worth it anyways. She still did not like granger though.

Leaning in slightly, Amris spoke sternly
"I will get you polyjuice from one of my contacts, Do not tell anyone about it, not even Harry. And do not try to brew it yourself, you may be smart but even the smallest mistake in the brewing process could fuck things up. This stays between you and me, got it?"
