Chapter 8

Alice's POV

*six days later*

I stayed in Bruce's house for a few days or as I like to call it ' the brulk cave'. He however doesn't like to call it that. I was spending most of my time with either Peter or fury and happy when he was driving me places, so I needed a change in people.
It was nice, he was like my own personal therapist.

He's doing great, he's writing his second book currently too.

At the minute I'm staying in an apartment I recent bought in New York, mainly so I have a reason to visit stark industries.

I got dressed up rather nice to go there for a meeting today, well it's a basic outfit, black body-con dress with a black blazer and black heels. My Nothing special just more of a business casual but I'm feeling myself in it.

Walking in I smiled at the receptionist

'Hi Anna, any gossip for me?' I said leaning both my elbows on the desk

'Wellll' she smiled 'I heard sherry's pregnant' she whispered

'Noo?!' I whispered back but she leaned back in her seat and pretended to zip her mouth closed

I just laughed and walked off

Walking towards the elevator I heard someone call me.

'Alice! Wait there' he said. Ofcourse it had to be him

I silently groaned into myself and turned to him

'Take the stairs with me' he smirked

I sighed and began to walk and he placed his hand on my back

'Matthew your walking on thin ice buddy' I said getting his hand off me once we stepped into the staircase hallway.

'Have you thought about my business deal?'

'No, I told you, take it up with my mom. I'm too busy'

He stopped me on the stairs, by grabbing my arm

'Let's go out to dinner tonight, discuss the deal and all that'

'I don't know Matthew' I said looking up to the ceiling

He came closer to my ear 'I know you want me as much as I want you' his hot breath whispered in my ear

He is extremely handsome and I've had a crush on him years there's just one issue, he's a mans man. Rude and arrogant.

My breath hitched and he noticed

He put a bit of hair behind my ear and chuckled

'Admit it' he smirked

I shook my head

His hand went from my arm to my waist, eyes his traveled from mine to my lips back to my eyes.

I felt myself beginning to lean in and I could feel he was too. I could feel his lips just millimetres away from mine when suddenly the doors swung open and I pushed myself away.

'Alice! I didn't think you would be in today' Kadon said walking towards us

'Really? I called and said I would be in for the meeting' I said looking at him

'Awk i wasnt told' he pouted

I laughed 'come on' I said taking ahold of his forearm for support walking up the stairs, not once looking at Matthew

'Comin matt?' He called back

'Yeah yeah I'm right behind you' he said sounding very irritated

Once in the meeting I took my seat beside the head speaker and took notes of everything, mom was there, over call though.

It was actually rather interesting, we have some big things planned for the future, helping the environment is one of our main priorities.

Everyone began to pack up and leave while I was talking with my mom over the video call.

'When are you coming back Alice, it's been so long' she said with her brows crossed

'Ms Potts, I'll make sure she's back with you soon' Matthew said coming into frame wrapping his arm around me

She laughed and did a big smiled 'thank you Matthew' she joked
'I best get going though, Morgan's up stairs and she's being to quiet' she laughed 'bye Alice honey I love you' she waved

'Bye mom love you too' I smiled then she ended the call

'So dinner tonight?' He said standing in front of me causing me to back up against the table the meeting took place on

'Your persistent'

'You have to be when the girl you want plays hard to get' he said then putting both his hand on the table, leaning over me, trapping me in place

I took a deep breath

'Look at me' he whispered

Looking towards the door I whispered 'I can't' sucking my lips into my mouth biting them

'Why' he whispered getting closer and I stiffened up

'I won't be able to control what happens next' I said still looking at the door

I felt his finger under my chin and thumb on my cheek, gently turning my head to look at him

I looked into his hazel eyes and felt his hand cup my cheek and instantly I sinked into his touch

Slowly he began to lean in, meeting him half way we kissed and it was instant fireworks and butterflies, it was everything at once. It was amazing.

I grabbed the collar of his navy shirt pulling him closer to me. Feeling him grind against me, then lifting me onto the table he pulled back and pushed his briefcase out of the way and leaned me down, getting on top of me, on the table.

He began kissing me, making his way down my neck and to my chest and back up to my lips.

*jaws theme song*

'God you got to be kidding me!' I groaned sitting up pushing him off me

'Just don't answer it?'

'Its work I have to'

I answered the phone 'I'm busy what do you want'

'He agreed, you start tomorrow, there's a car outside stark industries, get in it ASAP' he said in his usual voice

'Can it wait a few minutes'

'No'

'How did you even know I was here'

'I know everything' he said then hanging up

I sighed and looked at Matthew 'I uh ive to go' I said getting off the table

'Dinner tonight?' He said walking towards me

'Uhh I can't sorry, I'm busy for the next upcoming 6 months, maybe longer I don't know yet'

He smacked his lips together to make a 'pulp' sound 'that's fine'

I turned around and took a deep breath and walked out without saying anything else. What else could I do?
