"So, what exactly do you want Bridget?" Eric asks, turning back to Bridget and Bridget sighs.
"I was thinking I could bring Dimitri over for a few hours, a few days?" She suggests and Rosie laughs out loud a bit. "Ah, girl hell nah. You're most definitely pushing it now."
"Mhm, forreal." Yara agrees.
"Y'all can't hear her out?" Demi asks.
"I think we should." Victoria says.
"Yeah, because everything that happened aside this just not about Hailey and Bridget. It's about Dimitri. He has always been the main priority." Dahlia says.
"I never said he wasn't but this is adult shit and I'm-" Hailey stops her explanation and sighs desperately. She runs a hand through her hair. "You know what? Fucking fine. I guess you can bring him over tomorrow and... and that'll be that then."
"Not you giving in.." Yara says with a look, and the look goes away when Hailey glares at her.
"So I'll bring him over tomorrow at two." Bridget smiles. "And you explaining to my mama when he gets here too." Hailey mumbles going to the door, and Bridget following after her. "You can't be serious. You know she doesn't like me."
"That ain't my problem." Hailey shrugs and they leave the room.
"You probably confused as hell." Jalen mumbles after some time has passed.
"Get on somewhere!" I throw a pillow at him and he cackles as he scrambles out the room.
"Well, I'm gonna get home. It's a little late." Victoria says and Andre offers to walk her to her car and she accepts. Rosie, Demi, Yara end up catching a ride with each other so now it's just me, Dahlia, and Eric.
So much stuff has happened in the past three hours I don't even know what to do. I kissed Hailey, I admitted my crush on her, and she told me she liked me too. And for a lil while everything was cool and simple. Now it's babies and ex girlfriends and all types of stuff. A part of me just saying to walk away but another part of me saying to see it through. I swear everytime something good happening here come something to fuck it up.
"S-she really likes you. She just be having a lot of stuff going on." Dahlia tells me, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I promise she's gonna explain everything to you and it's all gonna make sense." She smiles and I give her a weak one in return. "Hopefully." She gives me a small hug and I think on some stuff before she pulls away. "Sleep tight, kid." Eric ruffles at my hair with a smile and I laugh a lil, moving away from him because not my hair. These edges be taking me all day.
I lay down for a while before getting up to take a quick shower and change into a crop top and loose fitted shorts. Tucker and Lion come in and join me on the bed as I turn on the TV and look for something good to watch on Netflix. I couldn't find anything that looked good so I did that random search and this cartoon called 'She-Ra and the Princess of Power' came on. At first I was just texting the groupchat with O'Sean, Julia, Chris, Christiana, and a few of our co-workers, while snacking on a bag of hot fries I left down here the other day, but then it actually started to get my attention so I started watching for real. I know for a fact Catra got this big ass crush on Adora. I squealed to myself seeing them interact. They're gonna be so cute together. I can feel it.
"What you making all that noise for?" Hailey asked, a smile playing on her face, coming in the room dressed in an oversized milwaukee bucks jersey and a pair of long socks.
I shrugged turning back to the TV and I felt the bed dip in a bit. "Are you mad at me?" She asks.
"Would you be mad if I say yes?" I ask, my eyes not leaving the TV.
"Y-your feelings are valid. And even if they weren't it's how you feel. I can't really get mad at that."
I take a deep breath and nod a little. "I thought we were past keeping shit from each other."
"We are."
"Hailey-"
"Cassandra, I promise to god you know everything about me." She says taking my hands in her own.
"I didn't know about the gang."
"And I wish you never found out about that." She says and I let my hands drop from hers. When her Dad was in town Hailey told me that she didn't have any type of contact with the boys she in a gang with. She didn't want either of her parents to find out she affiliated with them. "I didn't even mean it like that. I would never purposely lie to you."
"I didn't know about your son." I say and she shakes her head.
"He's not my son. Bridget momma runs an adoption clinic in Hawaii and Bridget ass tried to baby trap me when I tried to break up with her a year ago. It's a long ass story but she had a baby with some guy and my stupid ass signed some adoption papers. I was taking care of Dimitri until my momma and dad went to court and got rid of all of it, but by the time everything was cleared up, I got attached. So I started making sure he had food, clothes, shoes, and a house to live in."
So Hailey don't got a baby.
But Bridget did manage to make Hail feel some type of responsibility for him.
She manipulated her?
That's messed up honestly...
"Then why would she come here?"
"Because she wants me to be in his life. I don't have a problem with chilling with him, but I fucking refuse to be put on parent role because I ain't his parent."
Makes sense.
"It's always something with you" I say and she gives me a weak smile. "Before I left my brother told me it was gonna be something. I just didn't know it was this."
"Well, I hope this doesn't change anything because I deadass meant what I said at the beach earlier."
I smirk a lil bit and decide to play with her for a minute. "Remind me again... what did you say?"
"I like you." She smiles.
"Huh?"
"I like you."
"I can't hear you."
"I like you." She says a lil louder.
"M-my hearing aid isn't in. I can't afford one. American health care, boy I tell ya!" I laugh, cupping my ear.
"I. Like. You." She practicality spells out and I furrow my eyebrows as the smile on my face gets bigger.
"Come again?"
"I likeee youuuuu"
"What?"
"I fucking like you, dude!" She yells and tackles me onto the bed, pinning both of my wrists to the bed, straddling my waist. I smile looking up at her and she looks back down at me. Her eyes snap to my lips and I get all shy. She be looking so fine, I don't even know how to process.
"I like you too." I say softly before pressing my lips to hers.
