Chapter 47 - Goodbye for Now

They arrived home late that night after their quick but memorable visit to Sister Mother Mary Aurora in Germany. They just stayed in, Maine helped Alden pack his things and made sure that all the pasalubongs for his family are packed well and safe. After they packed all his things, they just sat on the couch hugging and enjoying the silence and only their beating hearts and breathing can be heard. 

Parang ayoko pang umuwi - RJ

Parang ayoko rin - Menggay

Paano na pag nasa Pinas na tayo? - RJ

E di back to where we were before Italy happened. At balik na rin ako sa magulo kong buhay. - Menggay

Menggay, di pwede na hayaan mo na magulo ang paligid mo, take control of it. Yun management mo you have to sit down with them and talk to them. Yun team mo, you have to talk to them too, you have to let them know. Magsalita ka sa kanila, hindi pwede yan ganyan, kung ako ang nandun di pwede yan ganyan. - RJ

Alam ko naman yun. Sige I will talk to all of them. Oo nga kung andun ka, malamang aligaga mga yun dahil takot sayo mga yun. - Menggay

Kaya lang, it's different now. I can't do that anymore, may masasagasaan akong tao. - RJ

I know and I am sorry - Menggay

Hey, you don't need to apologize. You made your choice and I understand it - RJ

Yeah, pero nasasaktan kita and that is what I am sorry about - Menggay

Don't Menggay, I will be ok. - RJ

Sana ako din will be ok - Menggay

You will be. Andyan ang JoWaPao, sina Nanay at Tatay, your friends, your siblings. Ako, andito naman ako, we can still reach out to one another if the need arises, but we have to be very discreet. I don't want you getting hurt, Menggay - RJ

Menggay tightens her embrace, not letting Alden go. She dreads the morning after, as it is time for him to go and the separation anxiety is real.  A lot has happened the past week, a lot of realization, revelations, and answered questions that have been kept in the dark for the longest time. Maine will have to think long and hard. Lots of changes will happen when she goes back home.

This is it! This is the day that she wished did not come. It's time for Alden to go back home. She was very clingy. She is being teased by Nay Rosa, Mikoy and Kakai as she was acting like a kid. But she is really clingy and crying like a kid.  Seeing her like that, makes it more difficult for Alden to go, if only he can stay a little bit more. But they both know that it is not going to happen, they have taken different paths and there are people that may not understand what they have.

Alden just had to embrace her tight and whisper to her ear and say 'We will see each other again Menggay. You take care of yourself, okay? I love you...so much. You don't need to say it back I just want you to know. And don't worry I will be ok, basta happy ka'

After saying that Maine tighten her embrace and sobbed. Nay Rosa just had to pacify her so that she'll let go of Alden as he is going to be late for his flight and the Uber service is already waiting outside.

Nay, Mikoy, Kai, salamat ha. Kayo ng bahala muna kay Menggay. Magkikita pa rin tayo, it was nice meeting you all (and he gave them all a sincere and tight hug for his thanks) - Alden

Huwag kang mag alala kami ang bahala dito sa batang ito. Mag iingat ka at wag makakalimot. - Nay Rosa

O siya, one last selfie Pambansang Bae at for our eyes only po ito, let's go! - Mikoy

Oh ako naman! Wag kang mag alala ako bahala kay bestie patatawanin ko yan! - Kakai

And just before he goes he kissed Maine's forehead.

It was already a few hours after Alden left and Maine went to her room and stayed there the whole time while Nay Rosa, Mikoy and Kakai went to their respective work. The silence is deafening and she decides to read a book. Getting the book she noticed that there's a letter bookmarked on the page where she stopped reading. She noticed the handwriting it says For your Eyes Only- it's from RJ.
