Chapter 34 - Revelations 3

Maine slept throughout the flight and was awaken by the flight attendant to remind her that they are about to land in a few minutes. She fixed herself and had to made her way to the plane lavatory. When the plane landed at Düsseldorf International Airport, she took a cab to Stadt Hotel Iserlohn to stay overnight. She unpacks her luggage and took out her clothes to hang and placed her toiletries neatly in the bathroom. As soon as her things were in place she felt hungry and decided to go down and have an early lunch so she can go to the convent afterward.

At the convent, she was met by Sister Mary Adoracion, who took over Mother Mary Aurora's works. Maine knew and met her already when Mother Mary Aurora was still alive, as Sister Mary Adoracion was always with her at that time. Maine was left in the reception while Sister Mary Adoracion talked to some of the people there about tasks that need to be done before they visit Mother Mary Aurora's grave. While waiting she checks her phone and saw that there's a voice mail and she started listening to it.

Maine was surprised to hear the voices of Anna and Alden talking and she was more surprised to hear Alden's revelations. It was a mix of emotions that she felt while listening to Alden and she did not notice that she was already crying and she is in shock with what she learned - that Alden loves her and that he has to endure all that hurt that he has to stay away. Alden loves her, that he asked Nanay and Tatay's permission to court her and she didn't know about it till now. Tears were falling and she didn't notice until Sister Mary Adoracion asked her if she was alright. All Maine could do was to hug Sister Mary Adoracion tightly, she needs someone at that very moment. Maine didn't tell Sister Mary Adoracion the reason why she was crying. It was a silent journey going to Mother Mary Aurora's grave. Maine laid the flowers she bought from the hotel flower shop, said a short prayer. They sat at the stone bench in front of the grave. Sister Mary Adoracion held Maine's hand and said "Whatever it is that is bothering you, it will pass and know that in your heart, that there is a reason for everything". 

Maine didn't think twice and shared with Sister Mary Adoracion the reason why she cried a while back. She did not hold back and told Sister Mary Adoracion everything. After listening to Maine, all Sister Mary Adoracion told her "You are a beautiful person, you are not confused, you just need to listen to your heart. The truth may hurt a person but that's what is going to set you free. With love, it is not always a bed of roses, you also need to be pricked by its thorns so that you will be awakened to reality. My dear Maine, love is patient and sacrifice, it is thinking of the other person's happiness, it is not selfish and it will come at the right time with the right person, you just got to have Faith"

Thank you, Sister, it made me feel better. Thank you for listening and for the wisdom. I really love this place, it makes me feel calm and recharged. Now at least I know what to do, I just need to take the courage to make it happen, and I will make it happen. - Maine

They both decided to go back as it is already late in the afternoon and there's still a lot to do at the convent. Maine said her goodbyes and was prayed over for a safe return to Italy the next day. Maine was thankful and was about to leave when Sister Mary Adoracion told her that Alden also visited Mother Mary Aurora a few days ago. Maine was surprised yet again by this revelation and all Sister Mary Adoracion told her was to listen to her heart, have Faith, and be Patient.

Maine went back to the hotel with a lot to take in with all the revelations she found out. She still has a lot of questions in her mind that need clarity. She went to her room and did not waste time and called her Nanay.

Hello Menggay, kamusta ka? maayos ka ba? - Nanay

Hello Nay, maayos naman po ako. Mabuti naman po ako, nakakapahinga ng maayos. - Maine

Napatawag ka, may problema ba anak? - Nanay

Nay may itatanong lang po ako. Totoo po bang nagpunta sa inyo si RJ to ask permission na ligawan ako? - Maine

Ha? Bakit ma naman natanong yan? - Nay

Nay, sige na please sagutin mo na lang yun tanong ko for my sanity - Maine

Oo nagpunta siya noon at kinausap kami ng Tatay mo. Natuwa nga kami nung nalaman namin yun at binigay namin ang blessing sa kanya. Pero nagulat na lang kami sa mga sumunod na pangyayari at ngayon nga andyan na si Jason - Nay

Si Menggay ba yan? - Tatay. At tumango si Nanay sabay abot ng telepono.

Hello Menggay, kamusta ka diyan maayos ka ba riyan? Kailan uwi mo? - Tatay

Hi Tay, maayos naman po ako dito uuwi rin po ako agad marami akong tatapusin na trabaho diyan - Maine

Narinig ko nagtatanong ka about RJ. Mas magandang dito natin pag usapan yan pag uwi mo. Gusto ko lang sabihin sayo na matagal kaming di nagsasalita ng Nanay mo dahil alam namin na malaki ka na at alam mo na ang ginagawa mo. Pero kung kailangan mo ng kasagutan at kaliwanagan, pag usapan natin yan pagbalik mo. Si RJ mabuting bata yan, nakikilala ko siya ng lubos dahil hindi siya nag putol ng koneksiyon kahit na may Jason sa buhay mo. Basta anak, pag uwi mo handa kaming makining nag Nanay mo at handa kaming sumagot sa mga tanong mo. For now, magpahinga ka diyan, mag recharge ka at  mag iingat ka ha. Love you anak - Tatay

Salamat Tay, love you din po. Pag uwi ko uuwi ako dyan sa inyo. Miss you Tay - Maine

O, Menggay eto na si Nanay mo ha - Tatay

Ayan, nagsalita na ang Tatay mo pag uwi mo tsaka tayo mag usap. Wag ka masyadong mag isip anak. Pahinga ka dyan, uwi ka na ha. May kailangan ka pa? - Nay

Wala na Nay nakausap ko na kayo ni Tatay, ok na ako. Looking forward ako sa pag uwi ko miss ko kayo bigla ni Tatay. Ingat din po kayo, love you Nay. - Maine

Maine was comforted by just hearing her Nanay and Tatay. And with that, she just said to herself that everything will be all right. And she went to take the much-needed bath she wanted before she hits the bed and sleep, she was too tired and her mind is too stressed with what she discovered today. Tomorrow she will be going back to Ostello and will see RJ again, paano na?
