With his heart pounding incredibly loudly, Yeonjun stumbled toward the door, having run up all the stairs because the elevator was occupied, and he felt as if he had run a marathon. His breathing was heavy and he braced his hands on his knees to keep from falling over at the door as well because of his hangover. When Soobin had unloaded him and still brought him to the apartment building, he had immediately started moving, hoping that the faster he got to Taehyun, the less bad it would be! At least, that's what he thought.

That's why he rang the doorbell several times, holding on to the door frame as if he were about to throw up again. When after a few minutes the door was still not opened, he rang the bell again.

"Go away," came a muffled voice through the closed door.

"Taehyun, please, let's talk," Yeonjun said immediately, pressing his ear to the door so he could hear the younger man better. "Please."

"There's nothing more to say. Just go."

Yeonjun took a deep breath, nervously ran it through his hair, and now also put both hands on the cold door. "Please, I need to see you, I need to talk to you, please!" he begged, as if he would get on his knees at any moment to beg for forgiveness. And he really would.

"I can't do this anymore, Yeonjun, I don't want to hear it."

Immediately the tears from before came back and he pounded his hand once against the door while breathing heavily and desperately. "It's all not so - ..." he paused, knowing how absurd that sentence was, "I wish I could explain it to you, really that - ..." his head was spinning and he couldn't form sentences that explained his situation without breaking Kitae's rules.

"Please, just let me in!"

A muffled whimper was heard. So one could only assume what condition the Kang was in. "Go!"

"Kang Taehyun!" cried Yeonjun in exasperation, stumbling to the door code and trying to enter the correct one, but the door did not open. Even when he entered it several times in a row, nothing happened. "Zero-five-two-zero-two," he repeated over and over, as he had since Beomgyu had told him the code.

Zero-five-two-zero-two.

But it didn't work the fifth time either. "Fuck!" he exclaimed in exasperation, jiggling the door handle. "Please, Taehyun, I beg you!" he cried, tears rolling down his cheeks. He pounded on the door several times, as if that would open it.

His voice almost failed, was only a soft croak as he pressed his hand against the surface again and again, and the sound was awful. Desperate.

And there was no more response either. Yet it was even worse, this silence.

Yeonjun paused, putting his ear to the door to hear more, to maybe pick up even the slightest sound from Taehyun.

In vain. He heard nothing.

No sobs.

No words.

No Taehyun.

"T-Taehyun?" he asked in a softer tone, but was only met with blankness.
