"I can" I say and he smiles a bit.
"Good, stay safe out here." Domino hands me Hailey's phone and her skateboard then they get in the car.
Eventually we're back in the guest room and I'm straddling on top of Hailey so I can get a better way at cleaning her face.
She's half asleep so she can't really complain on how much the alcohol stings.
"That fuckin' hurts." Hailey mumbles softly, eyes closed, wincing away from my hand.
But that won't stop her from trying.
"It doesn't even hurt that bad." I tell her.
"How you know, you aren't the one cut." She replies.
"But your the one who put yourself in this stupid ass situation." I reply soaking the cotton bowl in extra alcohol. I'm feeling a extra lil petty tonight.
"Whatever, bro..." She mutters and I continue to clean the cut.
I'm getting déjà vu...
"Remember when we first met?"
".. You hit me with a door." She responded after awhile.
"It was an accident." I laughed and she started laughing too. Eventually our laughter died down and now I was cleaning her cut in silence, while she traced shapes on my lower back her gaze not leaving my neck and cleavage.
"I was actually crushing on you a lil." She mumbled softly and I almost didn't catch it. My eyebrows furrowed and I looked at her and she was staring right back at me.
I opened my mouth but words weren't coming out.
I didn't know what to say.
Does that mean she has a crush on me now?
Fuck, I'm always overthinking.
Why do I even care?
It's not like I have a crush on her.
But if a crush means you think the person is cute, funny, nice, smart, and want to be around them all the time, then ok I might do have a small, tiny, crush.
Just a small one.
"You speak english right?" She mocked with a smile rolling her eyes, playing with one of the braids that fell from my messy attempt at a bun.
Wait, she said was.
Was is past tense.
Like for example, I was going to the store.
Now, I'm not.
So she was crushing on me...
Now, she's not.
Dang she lost interest that fast?
"Cassandra..."
Hailey was cut off by a knock on the door and the door opening quickly, causing a cool gust of air to come around us. My eyes widen as there stood Eric, Hailey's other brother, and who fitted the description of Hailey's dad in the doorway.
