Lila's POV.

"Your land is stunning," he commented as he looked around the area.

His whole body was tense as we drove through the pack gates. He gaped around, taking in the sights. He looked shocked and maybe in awe. He didn't relax until we left the main streets and drove through the little country lane that led to my house.

"Being back in the countryside is amazing." I smiled to myself. "I hate the city... I don't like the noise and smells." I cringed, chuckling.

"I can't believe I used to live so close... I'm from Burscott." He murmured. I glanced at him and gasped. "We moved not long after the seer visited us." He whispered.

I sucked in a breath as my house came into view. Burscott isn't far from Clovelly at all. If he hadn't moved, I would have found him years ago.

I pulled up outside of my house and switched the engine off. I turned in my seat and took a long-winded breath. "I searched for you," I sighed.

He smiled at me weakly. "I think I did too. I used to run through the forest all the time... I was probably subconsciously searching for you." He commented. "I never used to run through forests, but I felt more... At home running through the forest." He sighed.

"I couldn't look for you... I didn't want to meet you because if I did, I knew you would be in danger." He murmured.

"I kno-" I cut him off by shaking my head and grabbing his hand. "Look, we don't need to dwell on the past." I sighed. "We have each other now, Rix, and we're both enough." I smiled at him.

He grinned at me and lifted my hand towards his face before giving my knuckles a chaste kiss. "Come on... It will only be my parents and maybe Levi and Elias in the house." I mentioned as I smiled at him.

He took a deep breath and nodded. I opened the car door. Before I could climb out, Alarix was stood by my door, holding his hand out.

I smiled shyly at him and placed my hand in his. "Thanks," I giggled as I stood next to him as he shut the door. "Anything for you," He bowed playfully.

We strolled towards the house while he dawdled behind me. "Come on," I chuckled. He hummed and took one large step, walking next to me. "Your house is massive..." He drawled.

"Hmm, all the houses are hand-built around here," I mentioned, smiling at him.

He gasped and choked on his breath. "Wow... Impressive." He breathed.

I chuckled and nodded my head. "So, are you ready?" I asked, glancing at him. He nodded and linked his fingers through mine. "I'm ready." He grinned.

I pushed open the front door and gestured him in. He moved inside, looking around at everything. "In the kitchen!" Mum called out.

I led him towards the kitchen, occasionally tugging him along when he stopped to look at photos on the wall. "Every photo of you, you have your hair over your shoulder." He chuckled. "Every time I've seen you, you've had your hair like that." He added, turning to face me.

I giggled and nodded. "When I first met my mum, she had her hair like this," I replied, touching the braid, laying on my shoulder. "She reminded me of a princess." I smiled.

He raised his brow at me, "what do you mean when you first met her?" He asked.

"She's not my biological mum... They were second chance mates." I explained.

He furrowed his brows, then nodded. "I have no idea what that is, but I thought you looked like her." He smiled.

"It's been said." I chuckled. "I'll explain everything about our kind, I promise." I smiled.
