Nanlaki ang aking mga mata nang makita itong kaharap ko. He gave me a smile before walking past me. Did he not recognize me? He even saw the screen of my phone. How did he not recognize me after seeing his message on my phone? Or did he not clearly see it?

Sinundan ko ito ng tingin habang naglalakad papunta sa elevator. I saw him reached for his phone in his pockets as he looked at it while waiting for the elevator.

His shoulder-length wavy hair was tied in a half bun, allowing me to see his face clearly. The first button of his white dress shirt inside his gray coat was unbuttoned, revealing a little part of his tattoo painted on his moreno skin, near the side of his neck. Bits of stubble on his face, not too thick but also not too thin pair of lips, pointed nose, and brown hooded eyes looking down on his phone. His muscular build is evident in his semi-tight formal attire.

Napatigil ako sa pagtingin dito nang makapasok na ito sa elevator. I shook my head to the side and walked outside. Agad akong nagpunta sa korean restaurant na sinasabi ni Nica. Nang makapasok ako ay agad kong nakita si Jade na nakasandal kay Nica habang nakatakip ng tissue ang kaniyang mukha.

Agad akong naglakad palapit sa kanila at umupo sa unahan ni Jade. "Why is she crying?" tanong ko kay Nica at itinuro si Jade.

Tinanggal ni Jade ang tissue na nakatakip sa kaniyang mukha at pinunasan ang kaniyang mga luha. "Jake broke up with me..." sagot nito kasabay ng mga malalakas na hikbi.

My brows furrowed as I leaned in closer to them. "What do you mean? Did you two meet while on the way here?" tanong ko pa.

She easily shook her head to the side. "He broke up with me through a fucking text, Maia," madiin nitong sagot.

I let out a deep sigh as I leaned my back on the chair. "Let him be. He's trash anyway," sabi ko at pumulot ng chopstick. "Di pa kayo natatapos kumain?" dagdag ko at itinuro ang mga pagkain na nakasalang pa.

"She suddenly cried when I still haven't finished eating yet and I needed to comfort her," sagot ni Nica. I grabbed some meat and wrapped it with lettuce. Itinapat ko iyon sa bibig ni Jade.

"Eat," sambit ko. Wala itong nagawa kundi ibuka ang kaniyang bunganga at nguyain ang aking ibinigay na pagkain. "Don't waste your time on a bastard like him. Move on. Hindi siya kawalan sayo," dagdag ko pa.

Nilunok nito ang binigay kong pagkain at muling nagsalita. "Easier said than done, Maia," sagot nito at sinimangutan ako. Pinagtaasan ko ito ng kilay at muling sinubuan ng pagkain. "Palibhasa, 'di ka pa nahe-heartbroken eh," malabo nitong dagdag habang ngumunguya.

"Because, if I'm going to be stuck with an asshole like Jake, I would rather die single," sagot ko.

Mas lalong napahikbi si Jade at tinago pa ang mukha sa leeg ni Nica. Nica placed her hands on top of Jade's head and caressed it. "'Wag kang mag-alala, Jade. Soon enough, he will realize how important you are in his life. Malay mo, balikan ka..." Nica trailed off.

My eyes opened widely as my jaw dropped from what Nica just said. "Nics, kinukunsinti mo pa ang hayop na 'yon?!"

"I'm just trying to make Jade feel better, Maia! She needs to know that she's special."

"Guys, just stop. Can you just change the subject so that I can get my mind off of him?" mahinang singit ni Jade sa aming dalawa ni Nica.

I sighed and smiled at them like nothing happened. "Okay, then. I have something to tell you guys," I said with a grin.

"What is it?" tanong ni Jade.

"I bumped into the man I swiped right on the dating app," banggit ko.
