Chapter 6

I woke up early today, I don't know, I just feel like I'm more motivated to go to school and finish the rest of the day with a smile across my face. Parang iba ang araw ko ngayon sa nakaraang araw, this is my first time waking up in the morning that I don't feel like going back to my bed. I remembered the guy who have been chatting me for a while, Zach. Baka siya ang dahilan kung bakit ramdam ko ang energy ko sa araw na ito.

My phone vibrated from the desk, I heard it at once so I grabbed it from the desk beside my bed and opened it—Zach left a message just now. I smile is visible across my face as I'm preparing to open my messenger. Nangunguna talaga siya sa chat list ko simula pa kahapon, consistent. Pangalawa si Lory at pangatlo si Tasha.

I can't take off my smile after reading his message. It feels nice that someone greets you in the morning.

"Good morning! Ingat sa school!"

"Parang iba ang ngiti mo ngayon ah?" Hindi pa nagsisimula ang klase namin. kaya naman kinukuwentuhan muna ako ni Tasha. 'Yon nga lang, napansin niyang kanina pa ako nakangiti.

"Mind telling me the story how you got that sweet smile of yours?" I rolled my eyes and faced Tasha.

"I write stories, I don't tell it in person."

"Ay wow... e 'di isulat mo na lang sana bago ka pumasok para malaman ko ang story..." nagkatitigan kami sa isa't isa at napangiti na rin.

"Baliw! Ano ba? Manahimik ka na nga d'yan..." inis na sabi ko kay Tasha ngunit napangiti pa rin niya ako dahil sa itsura niya.

She looks at me like I was hiding something from her, she wants to know every single detail. But I can't tell her, wala naman kasi akong tinatago. It's not Zach, he's just a friend.

"Siguro nakausap mo na si Nick?" I raised an eyebrow and shook my head.

"I never spoke to him after what happened yesterday. As if naman na friends kami sa Facebook."

"Well, malay natin, 'di ba?" I didn't pay attention to Tasha.

Kahit kailan naman, hindi ko pinangarap maging magkaibigan kami ni Nick or Nicholas dahil wala naman talaga akong gusto sa kaniya. Hindi ko alam kung bakit lahat ay issue kay Tasha or she's just amazed because it was my first time being chased by someone—si Nick pa. But I don't think he's chasing me, I think he's just being nice.

"Kapag naging kayo ni Nick, grabe... tumba lahat ng girls dito sa school," sabi ni Tasha at napayakap na lang sa akin sa sobrang kilig niya.

"Baliw! 'Di 'yon mangyayari!"

Lory sat down on her seat and faced us. Kararating lang niya. She placed a red rose on my table and it caught Tasha's attention. Bigla na lang siyang natulala kay Lory nang makita ang red rose na nakalapag sa table ko.

"'Wag mong sasabihin sa 'kin na nililigawan mo si Mel?" Tasha's jaw dropped and stared at Lory.

"Gaga! Galing 'yan kay Nick! Pinaaabot niya lang sa akin para kay Mel."

"Saka ano ka ba? Nababaliw ka na ba? Ba't ko naman liligawan si Mel kung puwede namang maging kabit ko siya?" I face palmed myself after hearing Lory. Gano'n kami magbiruan kaya sanay na ako.

"Talaga? Baka gusto ka talaga ni Nick, be." Tasha and Lory looked at me at the same time and I gave them a confused look.

Nick likes me? That's impossible, never have I ever though of it. Ang awkward na ang weird. He's too popular for me. Ayaw ko rin masabunutan ng daan-daang babae rito sa school. Kaya hindi ko pinangarap si Nick para sa akin. Love is just a waste of time. I'd rather study and work hard than to be in love with someone that would break my heart.
