'I.....

I will let this happen.
I will let you convince me, if that's what you want.'

The choked sound in my throat caused by surprise.
Her warms move and she leans down to hug me, the chair between us.
She kisses the back of my neck.

'But you'll have to help me.'
I nod as I lay my hand on her arm.
'Lets try to do this right.'

I let out a shaky breath.
This isn't going to be simple.
But I'm exited.

'One thing.'
She starts as she lets me go.
'Let me live my life, until there is no ignoring this anymore.'

I turn in my chair and stand up.
'What do you mean?'
I take her hands in mine as she looks away.
'As long as you can't see I'm pregnant, I want to live like I'm not.'
That would be ignoring the reality. Not smart.

'Sit down with me.' I say as I take her out of the office and to the living room.
My eyes land on the fireplace as I get greeted by the warmth.
'We can't pretend it's not here. There's a lot to prepare for.'
She looks away and fiddles with her fingers.
'Ignoring it is not going to stop the fear.'

She sighs, and I pull her tense body into mine.
'We can do this, you and I.'

She pulls her legs to her chest and snuggles into me.

'Tell me more.'

I fall quiet as I look at her.
'I want to know more.'

'I think it's a boy.'
I start.

'He'll have green eyes, but hair like yours.....

He'll be like us.
Calm,
But sometimes too exited.
Probably likes cats.

Cute giggles and small footsteps that run around the house,
While we try to sleep in on a Sunday morning.

I'll take him to school,
And we'll wait for you to come home from work.
We'll be taking turns on running around with him as he tries to learn how to ride a bike.
he'll fall, and we'll learn him how to get up.

We'll learn him how to zip up his jacket,
And how to tie his shoes.

But first....
I can imagine holding him for the first time...
How small.'

My mind trails and I look down at Amelia who is nestled into my side.
'A boy, huh?' Her voice is quiet and her eyes are closed.
'I think so.'
'I taught so too.'

I chuckle.
'A girl would be cute too.'
She hums.
