kunikida sighed. "dead serious. there's a huge auction in yorknew city held by a mafia organization and they're auctioning off extremely deadly weapons. if the port mafia manages to get them, then we're gonna be in a lot of trouble."
"so, who's going to go to yorknew city?" you questioned.
"you'll definitely have to go, y/n. since hunters are allowed access and it's your license. not to mention you're familiar with the area. plus, if there's people who you met at the exam, we can make allies." ranpo said while scarfing down a cracker. "i think dazai should go with you too, y/n."

a comical tick mark appears on your forehead. "oh, so you're leaving me to deal with the suicide freak by myself because he's a bother here at the agency?"
"yes!" the members said in unison.
you dramatically clutched your shirt. "you wound me!"
you weren't exactly thrilled that your partner would be dazai for this mission. but he on the other hand, was over joyed. "oh y/n! we can finally spend quality time together! and after that you and i can jump off of the eiffel tower hand in hand!"
your face scrunched up in disgust. "yeah, okay we can do that when i turn 130, alright?"
dazai grunted in triumph. "i'll be counting the days!"
"alright. the auction starts on september 6th and ends september 12th. you have one week to buy the weapons before the port mafia does. that is if they show up."
your eyes were filled with determination while dazai's was filled with excitement. "i hope we get to meet another organization other than the guild and port mafia! i'm so excited i think i could die!"
"it's already september 4th, so you guys should get going before you get to the auction late." atsushi warned.

dazai dragged the goodbyes and see you later's a little too far. he went as much as giving each member their own personalized gift. that's when you had the last straw. you grabbed dazai by his— surprisingly soft— hair and made your way to the yorknew city auction.
