My little sister skips up to me in the Library, "Guess what?"
I scowl at the girl, "What?"
"I have a date to the Yule Ball!"
"Good for you," I say, rolling my eyes.
"You could at least pretend you're happy for me."
My sister and I never got along, we were always fighting. She always ruined everything, my new broomstick? Oh, she crashed it into a tree. My favorite book? Oops, the pages were shredded. The pygmy puff that I was supposed to get for my birthday? Sorry, your sister wanted it.
"Fine," I fake smile, "who asked you to be their date?"
"Marvin!"
"Marvin Braver?" I ask.
"Yeah? Why? Oh, are you the girl he originally asked to go to the Yule Ball?"
"Why do you have to ruin everything?" I snap.
"Me? It's not my fault everyone likes me better than you," my sister skips away.
How could he? Marvin was my boyfriend and we made plans to go to the Yule Ball. But of course my sister had to come along a ruin everything for me.
I start to get strange looks as tears start sliding down my face.
And she knew that Marvin Braver was my boyfriend because my sister would never go into a library. She was trying to rub it in my face!
My tears stop coming as I instead start to get frustrated, no, I wouldn't shed tears over my brat of a sister and my soon to be ex-boyfriend.
I find Marvin in the place I knew he would be, by the lake.
"Marvin!" I exclaim, happily.
"Khloe? What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk," my voice loses the happy tone.
"About what?"
"Well you see, it's about the Yule Ball. I don't think it's going to work out."
"What do you mean?" Marvin asks, still not getting it.
"I'm breaking up with you," I say nonchalantly.
"Why?"
"Why? Why?" I exclaim. "I don't know, maybe it's because you decided to ask my sister to the ball, after you already asked me?"
Marvin's mouth opens and closes as a crowd draws near.
"Or it could be that you didn't have the balls to tell me that you weren't interested in me anymore? Or maybe the fact that you asked my sister when we already made plans?"
The crowd gasps.
"Wait! I can explain-"
"Sorry, not interested," I say walking away.

"I heard you broke up with Marvin," Sirius says, sitting next to you on the couch next to the fire.
"Yeah," I continue to stare into space.
"How are you holding up?"
"Not good."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Sirius asks, awkwardly.
I end up spilling the whole story to Sirius, "Is my sister better than me? Am I not beautiful?"
"Oh, Khloe," Sirius sighs, bringing me closer to his chest.
We end up staying that way until I fall asleep.

Two days after I fell asleep on Sirius, I walk down to the Great Hall.
As I walk through the doors I hear,

"Did you like it?" asks James.
"I loved it," I confess.
"Khloe, I don't know why Marvin decided to go to the Yule Ball with your sister," the Great Hall is silent again, watching Sirius, "but it's his loss. So I was hoping you would do me the honor of going to the Yule Ball with me?"
Gasps were heard throughout the room, including my own.
"Sirius?"
"Yes?" the dark haired boy looks nervous.
"I will go to the Yule Ball with you!"
James and Remus cheer, leading the rest of the houses to do the same.

"The day that I comforted you after you dumped Marvin, changed my life forever, and now I'm wondering if you'll make me happier than I was when you said that you would go to the Yule Ball with me, and believe me, I was extremely happy and marry me?"
I look at the man on his knees, with a ring out, asking me to marry him and answer the only way I know how, "Yes!"
