CHAPTER 24:
Morning started with a frightening call in Evelyn’s house. An unknown caller threatened them that they had four hours to prepare and reach the main church of the city. The said caller claimed that he will marry Evelyn today. Evelyn’s father and siblings were sitting all dazed. Evelyn’s sister silently dialed Hayley’s number:
“Hello hailey!”

Evelyn woke up in unfamiliar surroundings. She was bound to a chair with the help of ropes. She tried speaking but couldn’t due to the tape on her lips. She examined her surroundings; it was a dirty room filled up with broken furniture. Kris was sleeping right beside her on an old sofa. She struggled but soon got tired.
Please Michael save me!
She prayed in her heart silently.
Hailey, Michael and David were sitting in a room. It's been 5 hours since Evelyn was missing.
“Are you sure it is Julia?”, Michael asked
“Yes, the head nurse told me.”, Hailey said.
“But Julia’s mom claims that she is in Paris at her aunt's house.
She just got back this morning.”, David said.
“I doubt it.”, Michael said “Have you asked them how she got back?”
“I never got a chance for her mother to disconnect her phone quickly.”, David rubbed his hands,Just then Hailey’s phone rang and she stepped out to attend.
“I think we need to inquire about Julia more.”
“But on what grounds we don’t have any proofs”
“We can check CCTV cameras, maybe they caught something.”
“Nice I can do that”, David got up. Hailey entered,
“Guys! Kidnapper called Evelyn’s home; he will marry her in a great church after four hours.”
“This means that we got only four hours to save her.” David gasped “It’s a race against time”.
Michael rubbed her forehead and punched the side locker in frustration. The door opened and things dropped off to the floor.
“Aish this rust bucket!.”
Hailey started collecting things.
“Hold on!” Michael picked up a paper with her company name.
“Hailey ,was Evelyn wearing that necklace I sent her a few days ago?”
“Oh that friendship necklace….. of course bro…….she totally loved its design. She even called your office to say thanks but your secretary told her you were in a meeting.”
Michael’s face lit up with happiness and he immediately took out his phone. After browsing he cheered; the necklace he gave her wasn’t an ordinary necklace. There was a tracker fit inside it. Everyone in their family had one, even David as well. He asked David to get Julia until he prepared for ambush.
You will die today by my hands kris!
Julia was continuously calling Kris's number. The other wasn’t picking up. Lady police were sitting in their lounge. They came to arrest Julia. They claimed Julia was caught in the CCTV footage. Kris leisurely attended call and when Julia told him everything, he just laughed:
“It’s your headache ,how you deal with them. You are a spineless girl. I only used you to get Evelyn. Now when I have my Evelyn with me I fucking don’t care what happens to you. Never call me again. I don’t know who you are.”
Julia lost her breath as Kris banged the phone on her face. How foolish I was!
After taking care of Julia, David accompanied Michael. They were racing towards the outskirts of the city with their men. Kris had kept Evelyn in an abandoned factory. Soon they reached and surrounded the area.
“David where the hell is your bullet proof jacket?”
“Aish I am sorry.”
Michael removed his and handed it to David who refused to take it.
“I will throw it away.”
David sighed and wore it silently. There spread and went inside silently taking down pests in their way. Michael was continuously monitoring Evelyn on his smart watch. Immediately he reached them. Kris was dragging Evelyn to a nearby car. Michael aimed and shot Kris in his leg. Kris dropped Evelyn and David caught her. Michael stepped towards Kris like a lion and put his gun on Kris's head. David untied Evelyn and they both stood watching. kris smirked and mumbled:
“Well what are you waiting for ,show Evelyn what kind of monster you are! Shoot.”
“Michael shot him.”, David yelled.
“You can kill me but my love will never fade. I was the first one in Evelyn’s life.”, Kris said.
“Even though you were the first one kris I don’t care at all. I will be her least and forever companion in all births. Why would I shoot you? I will hand you over to police who can sate creeps like you really well.”
Celebrations were in full swing. Kris and Julia were taken by police. Kris asked for forgiveness from Evelyn but she dissed him in his face. “I can never forgive a creep like you who doesn't know how to respect women.''Michael could not help but be proud of his girl. Maxwell’s Mansion was decorated like a palace. At Michael’s back his uncle met up with the parents of both children and convinced them to marry them. Luckily they agreed. Lillian also agreed. Now they were waiting for their arrival. Once arrived they dressed up and everyone gathered for engagement. Michael gently put a ring around Evelyn’s finger and kissed it:
“I am grateful to that day when I met that accident. It brought me to an amazing person like you. Never in my
“Don’t push me Hailey.” Evelyn slammed the file on the table enraged. “He forgot my birthday. I am not forgiving him at all.”
“But…”, Hailey mumbled.
“No means no; now please take this file to Dr. Charles.”
Evelyn shifted in annoyance. Hailey sighed and picked a file. She stepped out. Evelyn rubbed her head in frustration.
“Ahh I am going crazy. Stop using my best friend Michael and face me like a man.”, she took a waste paper and started making a plane out of it. “You are testing my patience by doing this.”

Phone rang with full volume as Hailey was about to step into the ER. She took it out and sighed. It was Michael. She attended the call but kept it to some distance from her ear.
