"Are you gonna tell him tonight?" Her dad asked as they danced together and Joe was dancing with his mom
"Yeah, when we get home. I hope he's happy," she said and Patrick smiled
"Of course he's going to be happy, what man wouldn't be?" Patrick asked and Brynn smiled with a nod as they spun
"I just hope so," she replied and her father kissed her forehead
She laughed as they came out from the Colby's SUV and Joe ran up and unlocked the door, then ran back down and swept her up in his arms and began walking her up the path while Jon and Colby obnoxiously beeped the horn
"Make sure you pad the headboard, can't have our girl getting a concussion cuz Big Dog wants to get freaky!"
Joe laughed as Brynn shot them a middle finger and Jon and Colby laughed and continued honking the horn
"Love you guys!" They chorused and drove off, continuing to beep the horn until the turned the corner
They laughed again as Brynn looked dreamily at Joe as he continued walking up the steps and then he stepped at the door and smiled at her, leaning down and kissing her as he stepped through the threshold for the second time in his life with Brynn in his arms
"Love, put me down, I have something for you," she said, smiling and Joe gently lowered her to her feet
"I have something for you too, just gotta get my pants off," he said, beginning to unbuckle his belt and Brynn laughed and held onto his hand
"Wait love- there's something in the kitchen for you. You go do that and I'll slip into something a little more comfortable," she teased, giving him a lingering kiss as she walked up the stairs
"Goddamn tease." Joe mumbled good-naturedly, pulling off his shirt as he walked into the kitchen with a smile
There was a single white rose on the counter next to a pink envelope and Joe tilted his head and walked over, Brynn had sprayed the envelope with her perfume and to him, it smelled better than the rose
He picked up the envelope and opened it, pulling out the matching pink paper and he saw Brynn's neat handwriting and he began reading
Dear Joe,
My gorgeous husband, I still can't believe I get to call you that. I can't believe I get to fall asleep and wake up next to the most beautiful man in the world. It's so surreal to me, that the ring around my finger is yours, and the ring around yours, is mine. We belong to each other and I promise to be the best wife in the world to you, and the best mother to our kids. I can promise that to you, because you and our family will deserve no less.
