They had left Robert's place after they ate and Brynn and Jon hugged Robert for like two hours. Now, they were on their way to Patricia's home.

Brynn hadn't spoken since they left Robert's house, Jon and Colby had tried to engage her in a conversation, but she wouldn't budge, she was mad yes, but she also didn't want to say something to make the entire situation worse, so now? Everyone was sitting quietly in the car, not even their breathing could be heard

Brynn smiled as Tricia hugged her, and then Sika. She walked inside to put down the rolls she had bought from the store Tricia liked and then she took the little white fluffy blanket from Jon's hands

"Is JOJO upstairs?" She asked, rubbing her thumb softly on Lopsie's head and Tricia nodded

"I'll come with." Joe volounteered and Brynn just looked at him and clenched her jaw

"Uh, I think it's better if you stay here big guy," Colby said, patting Joe's shoulder and Joe nodded once, staring sadly as Brynn walked up the stairs

"You told her huh?" Sika asked and Joe closed his eyes briefly

"Vince called her," Joe replied, voice cracking, eyes welling up with tears

"Ataliʻi," Sika said sympathetically, bringing Joe into his arms

Brynn knocked on JOJO's door and heard a soft 'come in' and she pushed open the door with one hand and smiled at JOJO, who was brushing her hair

"Brynn!" JOJO called happily as she lit up and ran towards her step-mom, throwing her arms around her waist

Galina had put it in JOJO's mind that Brynn would never be her mom, so she'd need to stop calling her that

"Hey pumpkin," Brynn greeted happily, seeing the beautiful young lady's smile made her happy, she loved this little girl, with all her heart.

"I have a surprise for you," Brynn said grinning when JOJO bounced up and down before sitting on the bed and staring expectantly at Brynn who then chuckled

"This- is Lopsie," Brynn said, taking the bunny out of the blanket, JOJO squealed

"Oh my gosh he's perfect!" She gushed as she gently took him, Brynn smiled. Yeah, she made the right decision.

"Yeah you like him?" Brynn asked, sitting close to her and petting Lopsie while JOJO cooed at him

"I love him," and Brynn smiled

"He was mine and your Uncle Jon's, and now, I'm giving him to you, let me get some supplies from the car for him, I'll be right back," Brynn said and kissed JOJO's head before she got up and walked to the door

"What's it like to feel wanted?"

Brynn froze...what? Brynn turned to face the girl who was petting the bunny but she was frowning

"What do you mean Jo?" Brynn asked, walking back over to her and her heart broke when JOJO looked up with tears in those big brown eyes of hers, just like her dad's.

"Oh pumpkin," Brynn cooed, quickly sitting next to her and pulling her into a hug

"Why doesn't my mom want me anymore?" JOJO asked, eyes shining with tears, that then began streaming down her face

"I had always prayed that what happened to me, wouldn't happen to anyone else but- come with me," Brynn said, carrying her to the window and she opened it and made JOJO look at the stars

"Wanna know a secret?" Brynn asked, pulling JOJO to sit on her lap, she felt the little girl nod against her chest

"My mom never wanted me either, she left when I was really young, even younger than you are now, I spent so many nights wondering about the same thing you just asked me," Brynn pursed her lips
