Alec could fee Magnus’ eyes on his back as he talked with Jace. His eyes had been on his back all evening – not that Alec had any right to complain. He’d of been staring at Magnus if he hadn’t been looking first. Jace looked passed his shoulder, “he’s still watching. Honestly, he broke up with you, why is he the one watching you?” He asked. Alec shrugged, brushing his fingertip across the rim of his glass. “Do you think he wants to get back together?” he asked quietly. Jace rolled his eyes,

“Alec…he ended it. Sometimes you just have to move on.” He explained. “It’s happened to me before, and I’ve gotten over it.” He offered. Alec watched him out of the corner of his eyes.

“Have any of your ex’s ever watched you whenever you’re in their line of sight like they’re trying to burn a hole in the back of your head?” He asked. Jace smiled,

“A few – I am stunningly fantastic after all. None of them, however, actually do have the ability to burn holes in people’s heads just by looking at them like Magnus does.” He replied. Alec scowled,

“Magnus has more of a hold on his magic abilities. If he was going to do it, he wouldn’t count on something so unreliable like that.” he murmured. Jace sighed,

“Why don’t you try and pick up another guy?” he suggested, “you know, make Magnus a little jealous.” He added after the dirty look his parabatai shot at him. “if he does want you back, then he can just come and get you before you go too far with the other guy.” Alec bit his lip,

“And if he doesn’t? What, I just have to spend the night with some guy I don’t like?” he retorted. The blonde haired guy shook his head, “just ask for his number, saying you’ll call him.” He explained. Alec looked into his glass, “how do I get a guy interested in me then?” he asked. Jace laughed,

“Are you just that oblivious or something? You currently have three guys checking you out.” he said. His friend looked at him, confused. “What…?” he asked. Jace smiled, bringing his friend closer.

“Up in the balcony, black haired werewolf, straight ahead red headed shadowhunter, aand the white haired werewolf.” He pointed out. Alec considered all three guys, chewing his lip.

“What do I do?” he asked. Jace rolled his eyes,

“God, you know nothing about this do you? Pick one of them and meet his eyes and smile back at him. And then when he comes over flirt or something.” he said.

“Flirt? Jace, I can’t flirt at all – it’s not a pretty sight at all.” He told him. The smaller boy laughed,

“Just…go.” He said. Alec watched the red headed shadowhunter boy. His hair was the same shade as Clary’s and fell in loose curls that were mostly hidden in the bowler hat he was wearing. He noticed Alec looking, and grinned – not really sure what he was doing, he smiled back. The guy began walking over, and Alec hit Jace next to him to get his attention, “dude I think I summoned one.” he said. His best friend laughed, “You attracted a guy. Don’t make them sound so alien. Anyway, I’ll go find Clary. Give you some privacy to work your magic to try and get your boyfriend back.” He replied, slipping off into the crowd.

The red head was face to face with Alec, “Hey,” he said, smiling. “I’m Victor.” He introduced. Alec licked his lips, “I’m Alec.” He introduced, and Victor smiled.

“I know, you and your parabatai are quite legendary.” He explained. The black haired one shook his head, “No, that’s pretty much all Jace.” He dismissed. Victor leaned forward, smiling.

“No its Jace the powerful and Alec the hot one.” he replied. Alec flushed. It was cheesy as hell, but he couldn’t help blushing. “You just made that up now.” He accused, smiling a little. The red head pulled the other one closer to him, swaying to the beat of the music. “Yeah, but it’s true.” He laughed. Alec could see Magnus out of the corner of his eye, and with no more than thoughts of jealousy in his mind, he pressed his lips to Victor’s. He didn’t like him – not in the slightest. He just thought if he kissed him it would make Magnus react. And he did. As Alec’s eyes fluttered open, his arms tightly around Victor’s shoulders, he caught sight of the warlock blundering through the crowd towards him like an angry bull.
