I ALWAYS wonder why Lady Despina from House Swertuanfel always acts so wild wherever she is. She always smiles and laugh. Her voice, movements, and expression is always happy, it has a life, but her eyes is dead.
She is not blind since she can clearly see the things she smashed using her bat, but her eyes are dead. There is no life in it at all. She looks like a living doll, and has no soul.
I always tend to observe her from a far and is looking forward to the things that she'll probably do on that day. Maybe as a person who is basically chained to the family and has no freedom, it's a petty but also nice to see how carefree Lady Despina is.
Before entering the Emperors Office, I knocked three times and opened the door after I get His Highnesses approval. Bumungad sa akin ang seryosong mukha ng Emperador. Hindi siya nag-iisa sa loob, sapagkat nandito rin ang Crown Prince, Second Prince, at Carlos na siyang kanang kamay ng Emperador.
"Let's start the meeting," lintaya ni Carlos ng makapasok na ako. Umupo ako sa libreng upuan, upang masimulan na ang sekretong pagpupulong na ito.
"Oceanic Kingdom sent a letter. The letter says a group of men, invaded their castle walls and almost kill the Crown Princess," seryosong usal ni Carlo at inilagay sa mesa ang sulat na binanggit niya.
Mabilis itong kinuha ng Crown Prince at binasa.
"Did they find out who's the assassins?" tanong ng Crown Prince.
"They think it's the Blabric Empire who sent the assasin," sagot ni Carlos. After a minute of silence, the communication ball lit up.
Carlos hurriedly answered the communication ball and it was the King of the Oceanic Kingdom who's callling.
"Did you catch the assassins?" mabilis na tanong ko sa Hari nang masagot na ni Carlos ang tawag. Hindi ko na hinintay pa ang pagbati nito sapagkat wala na kaming oras para roon.
"Unfortunately, we didn't. You all know that the Oceanic Kingdom is just a small kingdom, we don't have anything that's worthy except for our land," sagot ng Hari.
"We know," bulong ng Emperador.
Nagsimula silang mag-usap tungkol sa mga haka-haka ng Hari ng Oceanic Kingdom. Matagal na silang kasapi ng alyansa ng aming emperyo, at ang kaniyang matagal nang kalaban ay Krentia Kingdom na patungkol sa kaniya, nakipagsanib sa kalaban naming emperyo, ang Blabric Empire.
"Mayroon silang isang tatak sa kanilang kamay na isang bungo, nakita ito ng aking anak nang muntuk nila itong patayin," lintaya ng Hari.
"Paano mo naman nasabi na ang mga assasins na ito ay hindi galing sa Krentia Kingdom na siyang iyong kalaban, kung hindi sa Blabric Empire. At ang iyong sinabing nagsanib puwersa ang dalawang ito ay walang pruweba," seryoso ng lintaya ng Crown Prince.
Ayaw ko man ngunit sumasang-ayon ako sa sinabi ng Crown Prince. Isa siyang walang kuwentang nilalang sa aking mga mata dahil sa kaniyang ginawa kay Despina, ngunit hindi ko maipagkakaila na isa siyang magaling na prinsipe at nais ang ikabubuti ng emperyo.
"Hindi man ako ganoon kasigurado, ngunit ang espiyang ipinadala ko sa Krentia Kingdom ay sinabi na isang taga-Blabric Empire na mayroong mataas ba posisyon ang pumunta sa Krentia. Nagkaroon sila ng isang silibrasyon doon kasama ang buong royal family ng Krentia," paliwanag ng Hari.
Maaring totoo nga iyon, sapagkat hindi naman basta-basta magtitipon ang mga royal family, kung hindi isang importanteng tao ang bumisita.
"Naiinitindihan ko na. Ngunit ang patungkol sa sinabi mong ang Blabric Empire ang nagpadala ng assasin ay nangangailangan ng isang mabigat na ebidensya. Kapag narinig ka nila, katapusan mo na," lintaya ni Carlos.
"Two years ago, when the current Emperor of Blabric was still the Crown Prince, he visited our kingdom and asked for my daughters hand. My daughter refused the offer, and when he tried to force my daughter into his arm, we saw the skull tattoo on the back of his hand. Just like what those assasins have," seryosong sagot ng Hari.
Tumahimik ang paligid, iniisip ng mabuti ang sinabi ng Hari. Kung totoo ang kaniyang sinabi, malaki talaga ang porsyento na ang Blablic Empire talaga ang nagpadala ng assasins.
The call went on for a long time and I just sat there, and just listened to their conversation. The Crown Prince thinks that this is the right time to completely dominate and invade the Blabric Empire and put an end to the long awaited war to happen.
"We will send knights, let them train your knights to ready their selves for the upcoming awaited war," seryosong usal ng Emperador.
"Masusunod," sagot ng Hari bago pinatay ang tawag. Agad akong tumayo mula sa aking kina-uupuan at aalis na sana ngunit napatigil ako sapagkat tinawag ako ni Carlos.
"Where are you going, Duke Poviour?" tanong niya. Nagpakawala ako ng isang buntong hininga bago humarap pabalik sa kanila.
"I'm leaving," seryosong sagot ko.
"We're still going to talk about who's to be sent to the Oceanic Kingdom," sabat naman ng Crown Prince.
"Don't bother. We all know I'm going to be sent there, as always," sarkastikong lintaya ko habang nakatingin sa Emperador na nakatalikod sa akin bago nagpatuloy sa pag-lakas at lumabas ng study na iyon.
They're saying that we still need to talk about who to sent but they actually already chosen who, and the person best fit to is me. I don't like it, but since it's my responsibility, I need to.
"I only have one month at the least before the Emperor sent me to Oceanic Kingdom," bulong ko habang naglalakad papunta sa garden kung saan naghihintay si Despina.
"Where's your Lady?" seryosong tanong ko sa lalaking kasama ni Despina. Mukhang sariling butler niya ito.
"Na sa likuran, Your Grace," sagot nito habang nakayuko ang ulo. I wanted to asked why he left his lady all alone, but just kept quite. It might be because Despina ordered it.
"Alright, I'll call her. Tell His Majesty that we'll be there soon," utos ko sa kaniya bago tumalikod at nagtungo sa likod ng harden kung saan isang mayroomg isang malawak na lupain at puro bundok ang iyong makikita.
There was a tall and old tree, and beside that tree is where Despina standing. I walked towards her and when I'm almost near, I was about to call her name when I stopped on my track and was shock.
A strong but calm wind run against us, and her violet hair that seems to shine under the sun flew. A lavender scent filled my nose, and my eyes widen when I saw her expression.
Her eyes were close as she open her arms wide, welcoming the calm and warm wind as it embrace her whole body. Her expression is calm, she's smiling. A new sight to be hold, a rare sight that you can only see once in a blue moon.
