Chapter 25. Brave New World

In High-school, It's Carnaval, Damon and I are looking at Tyler who is arm wrestling in a competition. Stefan arrives "You're lurking"

Damon says "I'm observing"

I put my hand on my waist "More like obsessing"

Tyler wins.

Damon says "He's got strength"

Stefan says "He's a triple letter varsity athlete, of course, he has strength. You're reaching"

I smile "He is like his uncle"

Damon slaps my hand "Hey!!"

I ask "What?"

Mason arrives in an arm wrestle against Tyler "I bet I can take you"

Damon says "Enter the uncle"

Stefan says "That's ridiculous"

Mason beats Tyler.

Tyler says "Okay, he's the champ, who wants to go next?"

Damon says "Stefan wants to go"

I turn to Damon and widen my eyes. 

Stefan says "Yeah, sure, I'll...give it a shot"

Damon says putting his arm around my shoulder "Get him Steph!"

Stefan joins Mason "My brother over there thinks I can beat you"

Mason says "Your brother's wrong" He smiles at me "On Anna's luck"

I remember when he always says that and wins in anything. 

Damon looks at me "On Anna's luck!!"

I warn him "Damon!"

Damon says "He is flirting and I'm here"

I say "He doesn't know anything about me"

Damon says "I'll make him learn his lesson" 

I roll my eyes god help me. They start the wrestling both putting in hard pressure. Mason beats him and smiles at me. Stefan rejoins us. 

Damon angrily "You didn't put in any effort at all"

Stefan says "Yeah, actually I did"

Damon surprises "Come with me"

I say "He is strong but not like that"

Mason defeats the next contestant. Stefan, I, and Damon go into the hallway.

Damon says "Is he...?"

Stefan says "No, no, it wasn't that kind of strength but it was more than human if that makes any sense"

Damon says "What is up with that family? They're not vampires, what the hell are they?"

I say "I don't know"
