Chapter 29: "We have a wedding to plan."

Ash's pov:

We were on the flight to Ohio. Josh was finally ready to meet Lisa. He'd told me not to call Charlie but well, I had called him and told him that he should expect us someday. Josh was kinda nervous, I literally get those vibes from him and I hate nervous vibes around me... so I did what anyone would have done. I hit him on the back of his head. He nearly fell out of his seat if not for the belt.

"What the hell Ash?" he asked me.

"What?"

"Why did you hit me? It hurts."

"I'm sorry, but you were being a bitch, spreading your nervous vibes."

"What?"

"Don't be so nervous. I'm right here, aren't I?"

"You're not helping you know!"

"I'm trying to. You are not willing to take my help."

"Just shut up!"

"Hey... don't be rude."

"Keep your mouth shut and I won't be rude."

"Josh, speak like that one more time and we'll see."

"You were the one to hit me for no apparent reason and I'm not allowed to lose my shit? Wow, that's fair."

"I just want you to not be nervous."

"And how do you think you're helping?"

"By making you forget the worries?"

"Do you think hitting me is gonna do that?"

"Well, people forget stuff if they're hit on the head hard."

"Just keep your stupid ideas to yourself and let me be."

"Fine," I said and turned away. I started bouncing my leg up and down. It was a bad habit. I did it when I was really sad, like right now. I hate it when Josh is upset with me and when he acts rude.

"Stop it."

"What?"

"Stop fidgeting. It's irritating."

"Yeah, now I'm irritating," I said trying to stop.

"Ash."

"...."

"Asher."

"...."

"Babe, look at me."

"...."

"C'mon," he said turning my head towards him, "what do you want me to do?"

"Not be nervous."

"How?"

"I don't know. Forget..."
