Synopsis:

When Gao Wazi met Wang Xiao Er for the first time, he did not think he was necessarily a Scholar but most likely a farmer.

Later, the two understood that the butcher is actually a General; and the farmer was originally a scholar but is now a farmer...

Impressions: From the author of Stepmother [Transmigration], author-sama also has BL works so decided to check it out~ Hmm.. its just okay for me, its not bad, I finished MTLing it, But if you're looking for ancient times BL, then there are better ones plus the methods used by MC have been mentioned in the other ones I've read before. There's also the hidden General ML trope which I've already encountered before :3

So our MC transmigrates into ancient times in a farmer family. The original was well-known for his stingy nature XD  MC also used this as reason when he finds ingredients like wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, fungus, cicadas that are normally not eaten. Laters, like other protagonist, MC also invents farming tools and introduced rice-fish farming and got the recognition of the county magistrate.

MC meets ML who is posing as a pig butcher. Although MC claims that his 'stingy' nature is just a cover/the original's personality but for me, MC really is stingy XD Since ML is very generous, (he gave an extra when MC bought meat from him), MC became friends with him despite his bad reputation. MC also has a bad reputation due to bad relatives so ML thinks that they are the same kind of person XD He feels close to MC and even made up a reason so he can stay at MC's house. ML discovers that he is attracted to MC and starts to pamper him more, MC feels that ML is generous so they get along better. Finally, MC's grandpa discovers ML's thoughts and confronted ML, ML boldly admitted that he likes MC. Same sex marriage is allowed and ML slowly chase MC while being supported by the whole family thinking that MC & ML are already together XD

Laters, ML gets called to the border and his hidden identity as a General is revealed. After he left, MC follows some time after, conquering the troop with his cooking skills, inventing crossbows and firecrackers. During an enemy siege while ML was gone, MC also used a strategy to deal with the enemy and winning the war. With everything happening, MC has already caught the Emperor's eyes. The royalty here is not evil, but they are a bit childish and likes to toss people. Finally, ML resigned and went back to their hometown with MC to get married. During the wedding, the Emperor attended and gave their hometown to MC & ML to be their private fiefdom~ The End.

Ending is a bit abrupt. No extras. MC is a typical protagonist, he's not really that...memorable to me (Sorry!) Like I said, whether the weapon-inventing (MC from The Big Landlord did it too), rice-fish farming (also from My Favorite Manly Husband) or the hidden General trope, its not the first time I've encountered it and the others did it better (for me!). But this is pretty short, only 75 chaps~ Read this for simple farming/ancient times~ No drama.

Edit: Dropped this at Chapter 65 so didn't make a separate entry, Rebirth as a Ger (重生为小哥儿) , this is also a farming/ancient times novel. Our MC has a magical space, he gets into a car accident and exchanges soul with a ger from ancient times. MC becomes an 11 y/o ger. His husband is the village 'fool'. Cute and pure like a little kid or a little puppy. MC still has his space with him and he says he just wants to live a peaceful life, so far, he makes money by selling various foods on a fixed restaurant. Reason for dropping is that MC says he wants to live a peaceful life but he keeps sticking his foot on other people's business and getting dragged into the drama =_= Also, he calls his husband, 'idiot' in MTL, maybe it's actually 'little fool' or something like a pet nickname. But its kinda offensive that he never calls him his name. Aaand, the food porn is really nothing new~ Maybe it'll get better once ML has recovered~ I couldn't wait for it though (sorry!)
