Synopsis:

In the previous life, Chu Huai lived a hard and cautious life for three years during the apocalypse.

After his death, he opened his eyes and found himself back before the beginning of the end of the last days.

Facing the imminent end of the world, after rebirth, Chu Huai decided to eat and drink, kick off his bad relatives, and prepare funds to collect food! Find a safe place to welcome the end of times.

As a result, he accidentally picked up a little pitiful teenager to take back to his home.

A few months later.

Impressions: Hmm.. its been awhile since I read some zombie apocalypse~

So our MC dies during the apocalypse, he has a magical space and he awakened the speed ability but he still died. The apocalypse has zombies, mutant plants and animals, natural disasters etc. Then our MC was reborn and he starts his preparations. In the past life, he was in prison when the apocalypse happened cos his adoptive brother framed him. This time, he revenges on his adoptive brother and sent him to jail instead. 

Our MC goes to a remote small town to buy jade stones. During the apocalypse, all kinds of hidden experts came out, people with space our common too . Anyways, jades are very important, can be traded with experts since they use it for talismans etc. He meets our little shou there.  So our shou is...also reborn. He is from the past (waaayy back into the Qin dynasty). He recognizes MC as the reincarnation of his lover cos of MC's magical space which is bound to his soul. Our MC can't say no to little shou, but he also feels jealous of shou's past life lover especially since he's not sure if he is his reincarnation or not. Anyways, he agrees to take shou away with him from his small town. During the pre-apocalypse period, MC also warns the Chinese government, and a friend he made in prison in the past life (undercover special soldier) about the apocalypse. Then he picks up the retired Dean for the orphanage where he grew up and moved to C City where a base will be later established to build their nest.

Anyways, laters they are joined by the friend he warned (special soldier) and his lover (a hacker).  While waiting for the apocalypse, they teach them and the old Dean some martial arts. MC also learns some Daoism from shou which were all taught to him by his lover in the past life. Then the apocalypse came, MC's group is OP from the start. A violent beauty later joins their team. MC finds out that shou and the beauty belong to an old race of people. Their lifespan is over a hundred years and they will always look young and can get mpreg. If their lover betrays the secret of their race, the lover would get cursed to have an undying body, but his body would also stay rotten forever. Anyways... to prevent their mpreg secret from getting found out, they moved out of the base.

Later, they found out that someone betrayed the secret of the clan and shou's race were being hunted down, saying that they can discover the antidote for the zombie virus by studying them. MC rescues those that were captured and takes them to their hideout. Then they test the beauty's gong who is one of the higher ups in the base to see if he could be trusted. He passed the test and they told him about the secret and in return, they told them the info about the Capital sending people to raid an ancient tomb where the zombie virus came from. 

MC and co. joins the explorer's team. #SPOILER It was pastMC's grave, and shou's past body is preserved there. MC regains the memories of his previous life and told everyone that the zombie virus came from the same source that caused shou's race to mutate/be able to mpreg, a meteorite that fell in the ocean. MC also regained all his skills and became even more OP. He is also no longer jealous of shou's past lover cos he knows for sure they are the same person now and he has all his memories. The End.

Hmm.. there are zombies, but its not realllly about the zombie apocalypse is it? I'm okay with OP MCs like in The Rebirth of the Last Days and Return to [Fang] Hao, I quite enjoyed that, the MC there is such a winner-in-life. But the plot's focus here is really more on discovering the secret of shou's race/MC's previous life rather than 'surviving' on the apocalypse. As proof, after they finished the ancient grave arc, the story ended with a few words that the scientist was able to develop a cure and mankind is going to be okay now. =_=

Hmm.. aside from the non-zombie focus, there's also the side CPs, the violent beauty x base higher ups, the special soldier x hacker. They are such interesting characters but in the end, they were given less screentime esp. the soldier x hacker couple cos both of them are not ability users or a special race so after awhile they stopped getting mentioned. 

I like that MC & shou (and later the whole team) are a bit twisted though XD MC originally has weak emotions plus he already experienced the apocalypse so he is more cruel than normal people. Shou as well, he lived in ancient times where they are treated as medicinal slaves by evil alchemists so he is also used to blood and violence. Later, their whole team basically 'blackened'  and the reaction from the mob is funny cos their team keeps destroying their worldview.
