Synopsis:

At the age of eighteen, Shen Rou was sent to the flourishing Emperor Star from the Colossal Star by his family.

When he looked up and saw the young man who had been engaged to him since he was a child, he was stunned for a moment.

When Shen Ruo plucked up the courage to confess to Chu Xiao, he accidentally fell and knocked his head on the stairs.

Shen Ruo, who was s*upid in the eyes of others, was extremely sad because it turned out that he was just a character in a book.

The old Duke of Chu's verbal marriage contract was nothing important in the eyes of the Chu family. It was written in the book that he was finally broken off from the engagement, but he was not reconciled to return to the impoverished Colossal Star. After racking his brains hard, he fooled around with other aristocrats and was finally kept by them to remain on the Emperor Star.

In the end, because of offending Chu Xiao's nephew, the protagonist in that book, he was sent to a more remote galaxy by Chu Xiao. In the end, there was no news of him, and there was a high probability that he was dead.

Shen Ruo didn't dare to have any other thoughts. He wanted to go back home. Colossal Star was a little poorer, but as long as he worked hard, he would at least not go hungry.

But Shen Ruo, who had packed up his luggage, was taken back by that violent man.

After that, Chu Xiao stopped pretending in front of Shen Ruo.

Impressions: This started out good, I was waiting for the ML to suffer later...and then it just became...meh. It recovered a little later.

Our MC is a demi-human (which I think has never been explained in the novel. Let's just assume they're men that can get mpreg) who live in a far away planet. ML's grandpa lived with them for a while and assigned MC as his grandson's fiancee. Years later, ML grandpa is dead and the marriage contract has never been mentioned. MC's Uncle's family needs money so they sent over MC to the Capital hoping that ML's family will honor the engagement.

ML is a well-known playboy, after meeting our countryside innocent/ignorant MC, he decides to play a game, pretending to be a gentleman to make MC fall for him. It works and just when MC was going to confess, he hits his head and then learned that this world was a novel. ML would not accept his confession, since he didn't want to return to poverty, he climbed other nobles in the Capital. Laters, he offended ML's nephew (the protagonist) and ML sent him away to a distant planet never to be heard of again.

Our MC is scared to death and tries to escape from the Capital. Our ML gets angry and forcefully takes him back. He realizes that he likes our MC for real. However, our MC is scared of him now and knows that his gentleman act is fake. ML puts MC on house arrest and laters, got helped by ML's stepmom to escape from ML. Years later, ML shows up in front of MC again, they confess to each other and get together. MC tries to tell ML the 'reason' for his sudden change before (why he suddenly became scared of ML), MC also gets a System who gives him mission to follow the plot/help the protagonist. ML is suspicious of the System/'this world is a novel' he learned from MC, and thinks its some hightech organization trying to control MC so he tries to root it out.

#SPOILER MC & ML learned that this world is indeed a book. However, the protagonist keeps dying/getting into an accident and the world would reset. And with every reset, MC & ML would start to gain free will and not follow the plot. After the first reset, MC did not stay in the Capital after their engagement was broken. However, ML takes him back and imprison him. Protagonist gets into an accident, the world would reset again. Some changes in the plot but ML would ultimately imprison MC again and again (which does not follow the plot of him sending MC away)

After ML knows about it, System enlisted his help and they just help the protagonist follow the major plot points behind-the-scenes. Until the protagonist avoids the accident and the 'novel world' became a 'real world' now and the System withdraw from their world. Ending is MC's & ML's Wedding. Extras is their Honeymoon. The End.

Like I said, this started out good for me, although ML is a fake gentleman but their interaction is quite cute. ML gives MC personality cos MC is quiet most of the time. After MC finds out about the 'novel world' thing, all he does is just...cry, cry, cry. We can see a lot of his inner thoughts/his worries etc. but his action in the end is just to...cry. Gaah.. I felt like he was so...affected by it. I can understand him not trusting ML cos aside from the ML he saw from the novel, he also met some of ML's friends who hinted him about ML's true personality plus ML really is a playboy. But what about trusting himself? That he would never do the 'climbing the other nobles' thing. In fact, ever since ML took him back, the plot has already derailed but it took him 50+ chapters to realize it =_=

It got better for me later after they finally get together. ML tried to 'catch' the System. I mean, I'm impressed, instead of believing that he's a book character, ML think there's some higher tech organization messing with them. And he was able to catch the System too! And everything got better from then on~

Overall, I liked the first part (before 'book world' reveal) then got frustrated with MC later and then it got better after ML officially gets together with MC (No more crying!). Not really a fave since MC is passive the whole time.

Read this for crybaby MC & possessive ML.
