Han Zhongyuan is the gong, and Meng En is the shou. It's a snake disease.

So our MC was betrayed by his cousin and wife. They took over his company and also caused him to be disabled and even almost burned him to death, it was shou who rescued him and shou even became disfigured because of the fire. Then they lived together for 15 years with MC working hard to revenge and shou taking care of his daily life. He is actually not good to shou cos he doesn't remember him (they were highschool classmates) plus he was betrayed by his closest cousin and wife so of course he is paranoid and distrustful of people so he is always worrying that shou has some ulterior motives for helping him. At the same time, he lived with shou for 15 years dependent of him. Finally, shou died (MC's ex-wife killed him) and MC committed suicide.

Then he gets reborn when shou's diary was just exposed. In the last life, this also happened, MC didn't really care about a male classmate liking him, he just asked shou if he was being framed by others and told him to be more careful then laters, shou dropped out of school so he gradually forgot about it. This time, he reacted fiercely, protecting shou from being beaten by his own Dad. MC's mom got called in by the school for MC's fighting and MC tells her about his rebirth. (Yup!) MC's changes are too great, he can't go back to being a kind sunny highschool boy, he spent the later years of his life paranoid and living for revenge so he's really very different now. He tells her Mom about what happened after she died (MC mom would die of cancer) and of course, what he experienced from his cousin/wife/Dad/Dad's relatives and how shou saved him. MC Mom chose to believe him. Later, she verifies some of the things MC said (including the cancer) so she knows that its true and feels distressed for him and thankful to shou.

Laters, MC practically adopted shou, they lived together, he pays for shou's going to school while he dropped out to start his own company. He is very very very possessive of shou. Because of the last life, he can't eat food made by others, only shou's cooking. There is actually something wrong with the way of their getting along and MC Mom and his friends have noticed it. MC is SOOO controlling, wanting to monitor shou all the time... but the fact is, shou lets him. Shou enjoys MC's possessiveness. He also has his own insecurities cos he grew up being excluded by his family, so MC's behavior makes him feel needed and more secure in their relationship. So, in a way, they're kind of a perfect match for each other.

Anyways, some business management and MC and shou's lovey dovey(?) life. Of course, cousin can't stay quiet so he got shou kidnapped and later, MC kidnapped when he tried to rescue shou. Finally, they both almost died and shou saved MC again. Laters, MC revenges on cousin. Shou also finally really believes in MC's love for him and no longer feel so insecure. More on MC and shou's career then coming out in public. Extras is their Wedding, about the side CP (MC's work partners) and short arc of MC having a love rival (lol)

I've read this before so it kinda lost some of the original feeling XD But I still like it very much. Our gong MC is paranoid but he would restrain himself except for matters regarding shou. As mentioned above, their relationship is kind of unhealthy(?) cos of their way of getting along, with shou having almost no personal freedom but that's okay with him and he even feels happy about it so others can't really say anything. In fact, if MC wasn't this possessive then shou would always feel insecure cos for shou, MC's love for him came too suddenly.

I previously compared this to Rebirth to 80s Wife (short review in #337), cos of the similar cousin/fiancee betrayal setting. I like this more though since this has more...emotional basis why MC would go for the shou after being reborn (15 years together!) instead of the sudden gayness/instalove.
