So our MC was reborn on the day of his marriage. Same as the previous life, ML who has a fierce reputation requested for marriage with him and it was granted by the Emperor. As a result, MC who listened to the rumors outside, was always afraid of ML. They lived like...housemates(?) for years. ML did not dare to touch him and MC spent his whole life avoiding his 'husband'. ML becomes an Emperor and sealed MC as his Empress. Laters, MC died through some conspiracy. He stayed as a ghost and saw ML take revenge for him, spend his days missing him. Finally, when the people rebelled against ML, ML just...gave up and let the rebellion succeed before committing suicide. He was alone and lonely till the end.

After rebirth, MC decided to try to live with ML on this life. He was more...proactive in reaching out to ML. You can also say he's more...brave(?)/willful cos he knows that ML would support him. Anyways, ML did support and doted on him aannndd it somehow helped quell his terrible reputation. Because MC knew some disasters that was gonna happen, he told ML that he had 'prophetic dreams'. ML believed him and helped him prepare supplies. When the disaster did happen, MC helped the common people, making ML's reputation better and better.

Laters, ML was sent to the border to fight and they encountered the same conspiracy as the previous life (they lacked food), MC raised funds and bought food and personally escorted it to the border. Anyways, MC and ML supported each other~ THEN MC was found out to be pregnant (shocks!). He later gave birth to twins. Some more conspiracies, as well as other kingdoms looking for someone who looks almost exactly like MC which is probably MC's ancestor. (MC's origin explain why he can get mpreg)

Some infighting between the three princes to seize the throne. ML wins in the end. He becomes the Emperor again but unlike the previous life, he set up MC as his co-Emperor (I dunno the term) instead of being Empress. This way, MC also participated in court and can make decision like an Emperor. The End. Extras is...MC & ML life after the two kids are grown up. Then an extra about MC going back to the previous life as a ghost. He can speak to ML and he told him about the misunderstandings that they did not solve (ML always thought MC was inlove with another person). Past life ML was always...insecure cos the other Him was so much better and led their empire to prosperity, while here, the people are rebelling against him. On the day of the rebellion, MC went back to the present, theeennn #SPOILER Present ML wakes up with his past life memory. It turns out that after ghost MC left, he stopped the rebels and then spent 15 years making his empire prosperous too~~

Hmm... I actually didn't like our MC that much at first. I mean, after neglecting ML for a whole lifetime, he finds out ML's love for him; and he's given a second chance to do it right. In this life, after knowing that he's favored, MC used ML's influence to rescue his mom/lil sis. He acted more confidently since he knows that he has ML as his 'backer'. How to say...there isn't much 'atonement' feel to it or something. I didn't see much of MC's guilt from his actions (or inactions) in the previous life. 

It gets better in the border war. MC & ML are truly supporting each other then. And the things/trajectory from the previous life has completely changed. They're really more like partners now instead of just MC leaning on ML. The rest are the court conspiracies between the Princes or issues with the other countries. I like MC and ML's way of getting along, MC also makes important decisions in war or in court, on par with ML. He isn't a wifey shou. Nothing wrong with wifey shous but I like MC & ML's relationship like this ^^
