Impressions: From the same author as other Little Husband series. This is author-sama's latest completed work. She also has a cultivation novel, but I felt like it would be hard to MTL so I didn't touch it.

So our MC was sold by his sister-in-law to a trafficker. He was then bought by ML's stepmother to be ML's future wife so that ML's stepbrother can be engaged without being gossiped on (that he went ahead of his elder brother/ML). Since he was 'bought', our MC's status is very low. Everyone in the family can basically order him around. ML's family isn't exactly cruel, but MC's status is very clear. They treat him more like a servant rather than a future family member.

ML didn't like MC at first. He didn't like that his stepmother made a decision for his major events. Anyways, ML is also a scholar, there was really no need to find him a 'wife' from traffickers rather than the nearby villages. ML's status in the family is also awkward since he is the child from his father's first marriage (ML Mom died and ML Dad remarried). He is only close to his grandma and a sickly half-brother. MC also heard about it and sympathized with him and the sickly child. Because of this, ML decided to accept MC as 'his person.'

For the villain(?), we have ML's half-sister. She was reborn to the past. She used the skills she learned in the previous life to do business by making pastries and stuff. After seeing her ability to make money, the family supported her more. She also got used to it, and became more and more controlling...wanting to do things her way. Problem is, this sister is extremely selfish. For example, she disliked her sickly little brother cos she felt that all those money that goes to his medicine is just being wasted cos he'll eventually die (happened in previous life). Same with ML, she knew that after ML became a Talent in the previous life, he didn't do much so she wants ML to quit studying and just be a clerk in her shop. (TF!?) There was also this scholar that she knew was going to be a successful official so she stole him from her childhood sweetheart. 

Anyways, because of this reborn sister's actions, a lot of things that happened in their previous life changed. Because their family didn't lend ML's elder sister money (Selfish biatch preempted her before she could even ask). ML's big sis was beaten by her husband until her leg became lame. ML of course,  revenges for her. But because of this, his reputation as a scholar is basically ruined. Reborn sis sees it as her chance to make ML her shop employee and fanned the flames so that their Dad would stop ML's studies. As a result, ML Dad was so arrogant, and since ML/the sickly bro/Big Sis can't give him any benefits, he really doesn't treat them as his own children. ML cut off relations with their family and moved out with MC to live with his maternal grandparents. ML's maternal family are tea farmers and after witnessing the corruption of officials and how money from businessmen can do a lot of things, ML decided to quit being a scholar and be a businessman instead.

He left to travel and do business, leaving MC behind. MC also wanted to help ML's maternal family so he also does some snack business and earn money. Laters, ML came back and he was already an authorized merchant by the court. Reborn sis/step bro/ML Dad and stepmom were all shocked by this and they became even crazier about money, wanting to be better than ML. Laters, their moneymaking scheme failed and they lost all their money, stepbro went to jail and reborn sister's husband was banned to be a scholar (the one who abandoned his childhood sweetheart)

Meanwhile, MC & ML got together, then happily married then little buns. The End.

Hmm.. I kind of like author-sama's previous style better. Just warm happy family life. If in her last book, ML's evil relatives are just his Aunt/Uncle now it's really like the CN trope of evil relatives: Selfish dad/stepmom/stepbro/stepsis. There's also court intrigue again =_= Plus considering that they're childhood sweethearts, MC & ML only have few sweet moments. They even separated for a while when ML went out to do business. :< 

It's not bad but I prefer author-sama's previous works of being short and sweet. Now its just short and cliche~
