Synopsis:

Seven years after transmigrating in ancient times, Xia Chen's golden finger finally awakened. Xia Chen was so excited, he immediately asked: "System, I have been waiting for you for a long time. Am I finally going to be a winner in life?!"

System: "Integrating resources , Career planning is activated. According to the priority of adaptation, the final professional title of the Host is Divine Farmer."

Xia Chen: "...what the hell?!"

System: "The System Space has been opened, I hope the Host will work hard to farm, and reach the pinnacle of life as soon as possible. "

Xia Chen looked at the palm-sized land on his feet and weep uncontrollably: "No! I don't want to farm. I'm going to test the imperial examination and become an official!"

After a decade, Xia Chen was on his way to the Capital to test for the imperial exam when the  apocalypse suddenly arrived. Zombies were everywhere. Xia Chen shrank in the System space and shivered: "System, come out, I want to farm..."

Impressions: Picked this up cos of the settings, zombie apocalypse in ancient times! Wow~~

Our MC transmigrated to ancient times from babyhood, however, due to some mishap, his soul was outside his body... so his body became a fool. This went on until he was 7 years old and almost died, then the System woke up in advance to save him and his soul finally went inside his body. MC's family can be said to be a small landlord, they are quite well-known in the village.  MC is doted on by the family cos his mother had him when she was old. MC is almost the same age as his nephews.

Anyways, after MC 'recovered'/was no longer a fool, his family just doted on him more. MC's System said he will point him out to the most suitable career, and that is...farming. MC is unconvinced! XD He wants to be like other protagonist too! Getting rich or becoming champions. lololol. The System gave him a magical planting space which is like a farming game, there are lotteries, coins, gems, auto-harvest (when you reach a certain level), mutant plants will become cards that can be used etc, a combined Farmville and Plants vs. Zombies planting space.

But even if he is farming in the System space, MC did not give up his scholar's dream and also studied to become a Talent XD One of the mutant plants that grew in his magical space is a kind of telephone flower, when he tried to use it, someone answered on the other side, our ML ❤ Our ML is a reborn zombie king. In the last life, he joined their family infighting for power, after he won, the apocalypse came and as the leader, he defended their home. But later, he was betrayed and became a zombie. Later, he upgraded and regained his memories and become a Zombie King, but life was so so so so boring, so he committed suicide. After rebirth, he stayed away from his family and lived in seclusion, just waiting for the apocalypse to happen again. Meeting MC was a happy accident that did not happen in his previous life, so they communicated in the flower phone for many many years.

Laters, MC qualified for the imperial examination and said he would meet offline with ML in the Capital. ML and MC meet, and ML realizes that he likes our MC very very much ^^ Then the apocalypse came, there are zombies, some people awakened abilities etc. Like the  typical zombie apocalypse novel, only its much more inconvenient, with no cars/readymade food etc. MC wants to go back to their village to protect his family and he takes ML with him.

MC goes back to their village. Along the way, he already exposed his powers (mutant plants form cards) and magical space. They built a base which is quite a long arc, from digging moats, building walls, establishing a contribution system, forming a guard team... quite long, step-by-step base building. MC is, of course, the City Lord. On emotional development, its...frogs boiling in warm water. MC & ML is sticky everyday, and MC thinks its normal brotherhood, while everyone else including his parents has already accepted that they are a couple. It was really a little bit of sugar each time until MC finally realizes his feelings ^^

More base stuff later with MC cooperating with other large bases, the invasion of barbarians, and the emergence of Zombie Kings (In ML's last life, there were 5 of them. In this life, MC happen to save three so there are only two (2) Zombie Kings) . Laters, MC retired as City Lord and left the Base to travel around the world since ML is not growing older and others might be suspicious. Ending is MC dying of old age, System said he can make his soul reincarnate, ML agrees then he went into sleep to wait for MC.

Extras is explanation how MC was able to transmigrate/ML able to be reborn. Then MC transmigrating back to modern times/his past life and ML and the 2 other Zombie Kings also transmigrated there. (Too short! I wanted more). There's also an arc where after MC dies (ML went to sleep), and many many many years later, his soul transmigrated. It's already the future, and everyone awakens to a power, they have companion books and cards.  They're called Card Masters. After ML feels that MC's soul is gone, he wakes up from his sleep and look for him. Meanwhile, MC is taking revenge for the original owner of his body (Lol, he finally get to be a typical protagonist), then he reveals his talents and hailed as a genius. Laters, him and ML reunite ^^

This is quite good, I like farming and zombie apocalypse, and since its in ancient times, its also unique, I enjoyed the farming part, MC's family is really good to him~ And MC is really quite childish when he was a child XD  The escape/going back home from the Capital was also very exciting! The way they expanded their team little by little and ML is amazed that MC can pickup amazing characters each time. It was the reeally long arc of base building that sometimes made me feel bored especially when the villagers made trouble for MC again and again, not realizing how lucky they are that MC is there to help protect them. I love our ML, he was originally borderline yandere but he curbed himself for MC and became a doting ML instead XD He also does not mind that he 'married into' MC's family and calls himself MC's wife XD XD XD 

Overall, this is fun to read. The Extras are interesting, the Card Master setting was nice, hope author-sama expands on that. Closest reco is My Cherry Will Explode in the Apocalypse, MC's power is also plant-based~~
