Impressions: So I've been into 60s-90s/countryside/educated youth trope lately, but mostly on BG! cos everything during that time/setting is hard enough as it is, where everything is done in a collective, not allowed to buy-and-sell stuff. Super strict! Surprisingly found a BL one too, and there's no angst/drama. ^_^

So our MC rebirths back to when he first went into the countryside. In his past life, the FL broke out the news that he was gay which was considered illegal at that time so he lived in a pigpen to be punished and he was often bullied etc until he died. This time, he wanted to stay away from the FL and ML, but ML was very concerned about him. Meanwhile, FL was also reincarnated. In HER past life, MC & ML got together, something happened to MC, ML became successful but he always loved him. #SPOILER Author-sama explained in her Author Notes that when they died/before rebirth, MC learned the BG version (Female Lead upgrade/poor-to-rich) while FL saw the BL version (tragic BL love story). I'm guess they're in the BL version now XD

Anyways, unlike a real 'newly recruited' educated youth, MC already knows the rules in the countryside, you wake up early, you can't slack off, stuff like that so everyone has a good impression of him unlike last time, where he was already the weakest of the bunch and the other educated youth also made him their scapegoat for their laziness. MC successfully showed that although he's weak, he is also hardworking so no one can fault him. ML also has a good impression of MC cause of this. 

When FL was reborn, she knew that ML was going to be a bigshot so she wants to seduce him early but ML does not like her at all. She clumsily tests MC if he was also reborn. MC is good at pretending so he fools her into thinking he's not, making FL complacent. Things happen and MC had to live in ML's house and they sleep in the same room/bed. They get along well and ML likes teasing him, they treat each other as close friends/brothers. MC is a good person so by helping others, he accidentally ruins some of FL's plans to get rich. Anyways, MC & ML helped many people and when they encounter problems, these people will help them. Good rewards. THEN, MC found his Dad who was 'exiled' into the countryside, he was living in the pigpen in the next village. MC asked ML for a favor to help him get his Dad to their village and ML can't bear his tears so he helped. Laters, MC & ML offered to take care of the village pigs so they also lived near the pigpen. There were other 'punished criminals' over there, including a gay man and its like opening up a whole new world to ML and he finally knows that he likes MC romantically. After he confessed, MC says 'yes'. ❤

Laters, the college entrance examination resumed, MC enters a Medical University to study traditional Chinese medicine. ML also followed him in the Capital to do business and the poor-to-rich/business management trope is all done by ML~~ Anyways, MC is successful in school, ML is successful in career. Parents on both side know about their relationship and agrees.

Extras is MC with his parents go back to the village to spend the New Year with ML's family (Meet the in-laws). Then an AU! where MC is still an educated youth while ML is a retired soldier and they're married (same-sex marriage is legal). And last is a side CP story of the gay man in the pigpen and his shou (Awwwww)

I really like this. Very light and sweet. There's romance, career, family for MC & ML. MC is really good person but doesn't come off as nosy/pushy to offer his help. MC is not a green tea bitch but he's very good at pretending to be a white lotus to get back to his enemies. Lol. Since MC is usually a good/helpful person, so when he frames back the enemies that tried to frame him first, no one believes them XD ML is also good, very sticky to MC and likes to tease him. Very ambitious. (Good career man)

Hmm... NOT that I don't like it, (In fact, I enjoy the faceslapping very much), but I just noticed that most of MC/ML's problems come from people using their identity to oppress them (being the niece of the Chief, being a police, daughter of the hospital's Director etc.) which is just kind of depressing =_= Nepotism is sooo real. Of course, MC & ML faceslaps them the same way since the people they've helped/rescued in their good deeds, all have a higher position that the villains bullying them. (Author-sama loves MC!)
