294. After The Vicious Cannon Fodder Was Reborn

Synopsis:

Growing up in an orphanage since he was a child, Tao Mu, who had suffered so much, never thought that his life was actually a result of picking up the wrong script.

Eighteen years ago, two children were born at the same time, but due to the negligence of the medical staff their name tags were switched. Tao Mu, who was supposed to be born in a wealthy family, was sent to an orphanage instead.

Eighteen years later, the mistake was discovered. Tao Mu originally thought everything could go back on track. However, his parents and siblings who were supposed to be the closest family disliked him deeply, lovers and friends also turned their backs on him.

Receiving such a shock, Tao Mu completely revealed his dark side, becoming a vicious cannon fodder that everyone hated. In the end he found himself utterly isolated and committed suicide by jumping off a building.

After being reborn, Tao Mu was surprised to find that he actually lived in a book. The male protagonist in the book was the Silly White Sweet** who was the other baby that he had mistakenly switched identities with. As for him, he was just the vicious cannon fodder encountered by the Silly White Sweet in his sweet and pampered life.

Tao Mu: f*ck this plot, and f*ck this stereotypical routine. I won't be playing along in this life!

In other words, this is a dog blood story of a highly provoked cannon fodder no longer mistreating himself to please anyone after being reborn. Instead he will be relying on himself to build an entertainment empire that will catapult him to the top.

Impressions: Wow... I really like this, especially our MC. We see him change, from being all sharp and defensive to a more...mellow(?) kind of person, especially knowing how to cherish all the things/people he was sorry for in the past life. Then its all just faceslapping. Lol XD

So our MC was reborn. In the past life, he finds out that the BookMC and him were switched at birth. He was not actually an orphan but the son of a rich family. However, after he went back to his biological family, they all rejected him and they all still prefer the BookMC more than him. Our MC became crazy with jealousy, always targeting the BookMC, because of this he was condemned by everyone and was kicked out of the entertainment circle. He entered their family's company, but was still rejected. Everyone thinks he wants to compete to become the heir. Even Big Bro was guarding against him. MC found himself a lover but turns out his lover just wanted to revenge on his family and was using him. In the end, our MC jumped off the building committing suicide.

After rebirth, our MC DID NOT want to go back to his family. It was best if them being switched-at-birth would never be discovered. He finds out that that BookMC seems to have a 'halo' which would make the people around him either like him/become obsessed with him OR  be hostile to him/becoming impulsive like a stupid villain character. MC happens to be the 2nd type so he decided to stay away and cherish his IQ. Since he is back to being an orphan, people may still bully him cos he has no background. Our MC decided to use his future knowledge to get rich. He meets ML and ML takes a fancy to his brain, and made him his investment consultant in the stock market. Laters, MC also creates a website like Weibo, it becomes a company and he also creates an entertainment company, producing their own shows, having their own artists etc.

In terms of friends and family, MC cherished those who have helped him in the last life, his loyal friends, his 'Boss' when he used to work in the nightclub, the Dean of the orphanage, an old chef who treated him as his closed disciple. All of who became unlucky because they sided with him. Another reason for being rich is so that he can protect them better in this life. Actually MC REALLY IS a white-eyed wolf in the past life. He was so obsessed to be recognized by his 'real' family and compete with BookMC. MC loves and cherish his new family now (Nightclub Boss became his adoptive parents and Old Chef acknowledge him as his grandson) and he also feels guilty to them so he's especially docile and obedient to his loved ones~~

On BookMC, I thought he was really naive at first. It's not his fault that his family deliberately raised him to be ignorant or that he lives inside a broken book and Book!author-sama set up his persona to be a humanoid taunting weapon (Yes, he's a weapon. MC's 'real' elder brother and Dad knows about BookMC's weird halo and uses him to deal with their family's enemies). Until the plot twist, there is voodoo~~~ whoo~~ His character went from exasperating to annoying to MUST-stay-away-from to just disgusting. He finally evolved to a typical villain.

On romance, ML is not sweet but he can speak sweet words XD I love the business analogies, using economic terms to discuss their relationship XD XD XD He also knows when to advance and retreat so as not to frighten our 'betrayed-by-his-own-lover-in-the-past-life' MC. Aside from being a rich golden thigh, ML is also a talisman against BookMC's halo. He is unaffected and as long as MC speaks to him, BookMC's halo's effect would be dispelled XD

Anyways, later life is getting better and better for MC, in love and career. While life is getting worse and worse for BookMC. Plot twist is revealed and they find out that they've been doing this for so many lifetimes. Sometimes MC wins, BookMC dies, or like in MC's past life, BookMC becomes winner in life and MC commits suicide. After they find out the reason why this never-ending reincarnation happens, they take care of BookMC so that there wouldn't be a repeat reincarnation in the next life.

Overall, I like the characters especially MC. It's like a counterattack novel but its not all faceslapping, there is family/slice of life too. I actually...hmm...the part I least liked is when the plot twist was revealed. (Sorry!) I guess it was because it gave some characters *cough* Eldest Big Bro *cough* a chance to whitewash. Just stay evil! Gaaah...
