The end is a hard thing to comprehend, even when it's the end of something bad. I struggle with ending my relationship not because I don't think it's the right thing to do but because it's all I know at the point. Even though this relationship surely will be the end of me if I stay much longer, leaving is just as hard as a concept as staying is.
So when I saw that Anthony's season end I knew he was going to be upset. After going all the way last year he wanted to do that again but fell short. He loved his team and they were doing good. The Dodgers were a very formidable opponent and they got revenge for the year before. Sometimes things just aren't meant to last, and so they end.
Once James falls asleep I decide to slip out. I leave my phone in my room so he thinks I'm in there and just grab a coat and a pair of shoes on my way out. I walk the mile over to Anthony's place and buzz up.
"Who is this because I'm really not in the mood" he says.
"It's Amanda" I say.
"Celeste" he gasps.
"No, pretty sure I just said that it's Amanda" I tease.
"Come on up" he assures me.
He buzzes me in and I get up to his place. As soon as I walk in he grabs my face and pulls me into a long kiss. I get lost in the thoughts of him as I melt into his hands. I nearly loose my footing as he pulls me to my tippy toes. "I'm so glad you're here" he whispers on my lips.
"Really? Because I for sure thought you were gonna send me home" I giggle.
"Never" he promises.
We decide to watch a movie and just hang out. I know he doesn't want to talk about it and I know better than to ask any questions. So I just sit in his lap and let him rest his head on my chest. I play with his hair for a little and just relax. We watch Happy Gilmore and before I knew it it was almost 2 am.
"You have to go, don't you" he wonders.
"No, not yet" I assure him.
"Can we listen to music" he asks.
"Yeah, that would be nice" I admit.
So he gets up and turns on his music. We lay back down and just let the songs play for a while.

I lean over and softly press a kiss to his forehead. My lips linger for a while as my warm lips meet his cold skin. I see him smile which makes me smile too.

"I can't say that I have" he admits.

He turns around in my arms and smiles up at me. He softly cups my cheek as he looks right through me.

From the first note I was hooked, and as I listened to not just the words but the beat and the melody I noticed that was beautiful too. The song has layers, and not everyone appreciates the snaps and the harmonies but I do. And I fell in love with your song" he tells me.

I see his eyes start to water and I know he was hurting. He wouldn't admit it but losing tonight hurt him more than he wanted to show. And after all he has done for me I wanted to be here for him. Not just help him get his mind off of things but to help him get past this.
"Are you going to be okay" I ask him carefully. I know that question could backfire but I needed to know.
