You stepped out of your bedroom and walked into the living room where Wooyoung sat patiently in his red leather chair, his index finger tapping against the arm as he waited, each tap punctuating the deafening silence looming in the air.

"Okay." You spoke quietly. "I'm ready."
Wooyoung looked up at you. You shivered as you felt his eyes rake over your form, staring at you like you were a piece of meat—prey that he was about to mercilessly devour.
The smirk on his face faded when he saw the dress you were wearing.
"Oh. What happened to the red dress I laid out for you?"
"I didn't want to wear it. I liked the black one."
You dropped your head while answering, staring down at the ground, not wanting to make eye contact with him.
He stood up from his chair, taking long strides across the floor until he stood before you. His index finger placed itself underneath your chin,  tilting your face up and forcing you to look at him.
"My little dove is disobeying me?"
"No. I just wanted to wear a different dress."
"Go change." He demanded.
"I don't want my outfits picked for me." You spoke in an attempt to stand up for yourself.
"I ought to kill you right now."
Your eyes widened in horror, the reaction causing a hyena-like cackle to escape Wooyoung's mouth.
"At least you wore that red lipstick I love so much. That might just be what saves your life. C'mon. Let's go. We don't want to be late."

You sat in the passenger's seat in complete silence. Wooyoung's hand rested on your thigh as he drove, you didn't bother to move it. If you wanted to live, your best bet was to comply and do as he said, especially after the stunt you just pulled.
"You're quiet." Wooyoung spoke up, breaking through the silence in the car. "What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?"
You didn't answer.
"You'd better not be planning anything. You know what would happen if you tried anything, right, dove?" He asked.
"Yes."
"Good."

Once at the eatery, you stepped out of the car, the warm lights of the restaurant patio making you feel a little more at ease. Unfortunately, that didn't last long as Wooyoung grabbed your hand, leading you to the entrance of the establishment, his grip a reminder of the control he had over you. You reached for the handle, but he stopped you, grabbing your wrist with his free hand.
"You know the rules." He looked at you, his eyes holding a sinister energy behind them.
You nodded, knowing full well what you shouldn't do when out in public.
He then opened the door, allowing you to walk inside. The hostess at the front greeted you both with a pleasant smile that made you feel sick to your stomach.
She has no idea what's really going on.
No one in here does.
"Do you have a reservation?" She asked.
"Yes, we do."
"Name?"
"Jung Wooyoung."
"Ah. Here it is. Reservation for two?"
"Yes." Wooyoung smiled.
Anyone who didn't know Wooyoung would think he's a nice guy. His eyes are warm and kind, his voice light and airy, but he's the total opposite behind closed doors—like day and night, like Jekyll and Hyde.
His eyes are filled with a demented kind of darkness and his voice is terrifying, especially when it drops a few octaves when he gets angry. He's evil.

You mindlessly followed the hostess to our table, taking a seat across from Wooyoung.
"Your waiter should be here shortly." She informed with a smile before walking off.
"Alright. Let's take a look at the menu." Wooyoung murmured as he flipped through the thick, plastic-covered pages.
You had no appetite whatsoever, and how could you? Wooyoung kept you on edge at all times, your anxiety was always through the roof. You hardly ever eat. He hates that. He says you look sickly and he doesn't want to be with someone who looks like a stick. Some days he forces food down your throat, while other days he gets angry that you won't eat and ends up throwing the plate of food across the room and storming out. You can't count how many times you've cut your feet by accidentally stepping on glass from broken plates.

"What are you going to order, darling?" Wooyoung asked pleasantly, pulling you back to the sickening reality that was your life.
"I don't know." You muttered, staring blankly at the menu in front of you.
"You'd better hurry or I'll order for you."
"What if it's something I don't like?" You questioned.
"I'll make you eat it." He glared.
Your eyes hastily searched the menu for anything that looked remotely appetizing.
"I guess I'll have the chicken." You muttered.
"Good choice, lovely."
You kept quiet, your eyes staying glued to the plastic menu. Wooyoung reached out, snatching it from your hands.
"You should be thankful that I'm taking you out to such a nice place."
"How can I be thankful when you dragged me here against my will?"
He let out a dry chuckle. "You're bold tonight. I don't like it." His eyes then took in your appearance, a disgusted grimace twisting his features. "Sit up straight. You look sloppy."
Since Wooyoung took the menu from you, you resorted to looking down at your lap, making sure to keep your posture straight despite avoiding eye contact with Wooyoung.
"Hello. I'm Keeho. I'll be your waiter tonight." A male's voice spoke.
Keeho?
Your eyes snapped up to see the blonde wearing the same attire as the other waiters. His hair was slicked back tidily, making him look extremely clean-cut.
His eyes widened in both surprise and recognition when he saw you.
"Y/n?"
"Keeho. Hi."

Your heart raced, thankful to see a familiar face. Keeho was your old friend from high school. You hadn't seen him in at least five years and you couldn't be happier.
He could be your saving grace.

"It's been so long. How have you been?"
"Good." You lied through your teeth and forced a smile, trying to keep up the act for your own sake.
"That's so nice to hear."
Wooyoung then cleared his throat loudly.
"Babe. Who's this?" He asked, emphasizing the pet name.
"I'm Keeho. Y/n's friend from school." He introduced himself.
"Ah. I see." Wooyoung muttered, his burning gaze staying glued to you.
"So, what can I get you two?" Keeho asked, ready to take your order, his notepad already out and in his hand.
"Actually, I think we're gonna leave." Wooyoung announced, standing up.
"What? No." You protested.
"Yes. We're leaving."
Wooyoung grabbed your hand and pulled you up from your chair, not hiding the fact that he was being rough with you.
"B-bye Keeho. It was nice seeing you again."  You called before mouthing, "Help me."
He gave you a confused look and seemed a bit concerned seeing you get dragged out of the restaurant.

You knew you were in for it once you and Wooyoung got home. There's no way he would let you off the hook. He was furious.
And for what? Your rational thoughts came through. Speaking to an old friend?
Yes. You thought you did a pretty good job at keeping up the ruse that things were fine, so why was Wooyoung so angry? Then again, he had terrible rage and would blow up at anything that didn't suit his standards.

To your surprise, when you got home he didn't say anything, not a word. It was strange and out of the ordinary for him, not to mention very creepy. His placid behavior left you a nervous wreck. You felt like he would blow at any second.

"Go to your room." He snapped, cutting through the bone-chilling silence.
Without a word, you scurried out of sight, not wanting to hang around any longer and see him really lose his temper.
You went to bed that night, hoping and praying that Wooyoung wouldn't burst in and decide that you needed to be punished or something. There's no telling what he would do to you.

The next day, you were surprised to wake up peacefully for once. It didn't take long at all for you to realize Wooyoung didn't come in and wake you up like he usually does. This prompted your to jump out of bed and scurry into the living room where Wooyoung sat in his favorite red chair.
"Ah. There you are." He glanced up at you.
"Sorry. I overslept."
"It's alright, doll." He smiled softly. "I wanted to let you sleep. You've been looking tired lately."
You were immediately taken aback by his strange behavior.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing." He shrugged. "Breakfast is in the kitchen."
You hesitantly stepped out of the living room, glancing into the kitchen where a plate of food sat on the dining table. You took a seat and began eating, feeling on edge because of Wooyoung's uncharacteristic behavior.

Throughout the day, Wooyoung was nice to you. He asked if you needed anything, gave you soft kisses on the cheek, and even offered to run a hot bath for you. It was strange, suspiciously so. You had resorted to staying in your room most of the day, not feeling comfortable hanging around Wooyoung at all.
There's no way he had a change of heart overnight. Plus, it would take more than a few kind gestures for you to truly believe this act he had put on.

You heard a quiet knock on your bedroom door, making you snap your head towards the sound, your body always on high alert. The door creaked open and Wooyoung stood just outside.
"Hi sweetheart." He spoke softly from the doorway.
"What do you want?"
"I know I've probably been acting weird today, right?"
You didn't say anything.
"It's because I realized how horrible I've been to you. I've been treating you so badly, especially last night."
Your brows pulled together as you watched him walk towards you.
"I'm sorry for ruining the date last night. I shouldn't have stormed out like that. I'm also sorry for treating you the way I have been."
The amount of skepticism you felt was astronomical. Not to mention all the sirens blaring in your head.
"Do you really mean that, or are you lying?"
"I mean it." He placed his hand over his heart as if to show his sincerity. "I was actually thinking of having Keeho for dinner. You know, as an apology."
"What?" You asked in disbelief. "Like, he can come over?"
Wooyoung nodded.
You didn't want to fully believe him, but it did seem like he wanted to change. Then again, he was cunning and sly.
"I can see you're apprehensive, and rightfully so. I don't expect you to trust me. That's why I'm trying to make it up to you."
"So... Keeho can come over?"
He nodded.
The faintest hint of a smile pulled at your lips. "Thank you."
"Of course, darling." He grinned. "I'll make sure tonight is special. We'll get all dressed up. You can even wear whatever you like."
Your eyes followed him as he walked out of the room, leaving you stunned and perplexed.
Once you pulled yourself from your daze, you shuffled over to the closet and began looking for something to wear.
If Wooyoung really did mean what he said, you'd like to try and have a nice dinner. Maybe take advantage of this sudden nice behavior.
As you looked through your small section of dresses, you realized all of them had some sort of bad memory attached to them. Wooyoung had bought every single one of them for you and forced you to wear them. They were beautiful dresses, it's just that the memories attached to them were sour.

"Y/n?"
You flinched, whirling around when you heard your name being called. Wooyoung stood in the doorway to your room.
"Can you come and try this? I need a second opinion."
You quietly followed him to the kitchen where he had a pot of soup boiling on the stovetop.
A skeptical and apprehensive glance was directed at him, then the soup.
"It's not poisoned if that's what you're thinking." He mentioned as if reading your mind. "It's safe to eat."
Reluctantly, you grabbed a spoon and tasted a bit of the soup.
"It's... actually pretty good."
"I'm so happy to hear that. But, I feel like it needs something else. Could you try it again?"
You compiled, having another taste of the soup, this time getting more of it in the spoon.
"Needs more salt." You commented.
"Ah, okay." He nodded. "You can go finish getting ready now. Sorry for bothering you."

When you returned to your bedroom, you stared into your closet, your eyes catching sight of the bottom of a dress hanging in the very back. You reached in and dug it out, bringing it into the light to get a look at it.
It was the dress you wore for yours and Wooyoung's first date. Unlike the other dresses, this one had good memories. Your first date with Wooyoung was wonderful. He was so nice to you and even made you laugh with his incredible sense of humor. He was charming.
You laid the dress out on your bed and started getting ready. By the time you finished, you heard Wooyoung call for you, letting you know dinner was ready.

You walked down the hall and to the dining room where Wooyoung stood, dressed in a black suit.
"Ah." He paused, his eyes looking down at the dress you wore. You could see his jaw clench a bit, letting you know he didn't like your attire all that much.
"You look beautiful." He commented, forcing a smile. "Have a seat."
Despite his rigid reaction, you went to sit down, only to notice two bowls of soup at the table instead of three.
"Why are there only two bowls? I thought you said we were having Keeho over for dinner."
"No." Wooyoung spoke up. "I said we were having him for dinner."
Your whole body went cold as you looked down at the bowl of soup, then back up at Wooyoung. The expression on his face was that of utter insanity. His eyes were wide as a bone-chilling grin stretched across his lips.
"What's wrong, Y/n? You said you liked the soup."
You shook your head, pushing the bowl away as a feeling of overwhelming nausea churned in your stomach.
"I can't believe you."
He only let out a maniacal cackle, the sound echoing through the house as he threw his head back.
"You're sick!" You shouted. "I'm getting out of here."
You turned around and bolted to the front door, not caring that you were making a risky move. You needed to get out. Your trembling fingers moved hastily over the locks, undoing each one. After what felt like ages, you flipped the last one and started to open the door, ready for freedom. Then, you felt Wooyoung grab you.

Wooyoung took a seat at the opposite end of the table letting out a sigh.
"Okay. Let's try this again." He smoothed his suit out and readjusted his tie before looking across the table annoyedly. "Aren't you gonna thank me for preparing this meal?"
His eyes raked over your figure which was now donning the red dress he liked so much. The one you refused to wear the night before.
"I told you you'd look beautiful in that dress. I'm glad you're finally wearing it." He commented.
Your lifeless form sat at the opposite end of the table, strapped to the chair, your neck limp and bent at an unnatural angle, eyes wide open and unblinking.
Wooyoung huffed, letting out a tsk sound.
"What have I told you about posture? You never look pretty when you slouch."
