"Yes, I'll remember to get your Couque D'asse cookies." You chuckled, keeping the phone pressed against your ear.
"Don't forget to buy the-"
"Green kind. I know."
"Alright. I just wanted to make sure."
"Jongho, we've been dating for three years, I know you better than you think I do."
"Okay, okay. When will you be home?"
"It shouldn't take me more than an hour. I'll let you know if I'll be out longer."
"Alright."
"I love you." You said into the phone.
There was no response for a moment, until you heard a shy, "I love you too." from Jongho.
"I'll see you soon." You giggled, hanging up.
You slipped your phone in your back pocket and entered the convenience store, heading straight for the snack aisle, immediately spotted the coffee-flavored cookies that Jongho liked so much. Reaching out, you grabbed one box only to reach for two more, wanting to make sure he had plenty to snack on. You meandered around the corner and began glancing at the snacks lining the shelves, seeing if anything interested you. Since you had made the trip to the convenience store you might as well browse.
While perusing, you saw movement in your peripherals which made you unconsciously look over. A guy with short, black hair started scanning the ramen section which was at the opposite end of the aisle. Your eyes nearly popped out of your head as you looked at the man's physique. His arms, shoulders, chest, and even his legs were incredibly large and muscular; this man looked like a bodybuilder or something.
He glanced up, making eye contact with you. Your body froze and you quickly looked away, your eyes staying glued to the array of chips in front of you as you silently hoped that you didn't come off as a weirdo staring at that guy.
"Y/n?"
Did he just say my name?
You turned back, seeing the man walking towards you.
"Is that you?" He asked.
Your brows knit together.
"How do you know my name?"
"It's me, Wonho." He smiled brightly, his eyes crinkling up.
You took notice of his adorable ears that seemed to stand out and that's what made everything click. You could now very clearly picture a tiny Wonho who you once knew.
"Wonho?" You repeated in disbelief.
"That's me." He grinned.
"I haven't seen you since my freshman year of high school. You've changed so much."
"So have you."
"You were able to recognize me instantly. I obviously haven't changed at all." You chuckled.
"You have changed. Trust me. I wasn't even sure that was you at first. I thought I was about to embarrass myself."
"I didn't even recognize you." You admitted, your eyes scanning down his extremely buff figure. "You've bulked up... a lot."
Back in high school, Wonho was just a tiny little thing. He was a couple grades ahead of you, but despite that, you were both super close. Seeing him now was a total 360 from what he used to look like.
"Yeah I have. It's taken a lot of work, though."
"I saw you eyeing the ramen section. Seems that not everything has changed." You pointed out with a grin.
He gave a guilty smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "You're right."
"Do you wanna get some ramen and catch up?" He asked. "If you have time."
"Sure. That sounds great, actually."
The two of you picked out your favorite instant ramen and checked out at the register. You used the machines at the convenience store to cook the noodles and sat down at the built-in table in front of the windows of the store.
"So, I haven't seen you in years. You never showed up for your senior year." You mentioned.
"Yeah, I transferred after my junior year."
"I assumed so."
"Sorry I didn't keep in touch."
"It's alright. That's life." You shrugged. "I'm just glad we're able to catch up now."
"Me too. So, what about you? What have you been up to?"
"Not much. After graduating high school I started attending college. I just finished my third year there. I also met my boyfriend along the way." You grinned.
"Boyfriend?" Wonho's face lit up. "What's his name? How did you meet? Does he treat you right?" He fired questions at you rapidly which caused you to laugh.
"His name is Jongho. I met him three years ago. He was a trainee at the time and super busy because he was preparing for his debut, but we hit it off so well that we made it work. And yes, he treats me wonderfully."
"Good. You said his name was Jongho?"
"Mhm." You nodded.
"What group is he in?"
"Ateez."
"Oh! They're gaining lots of popularity internationally."
"They are. It's hard to believe."
"Do you get to see him much?"
"It depends. But, like I said earlier, we make it work." You smiled softly. "So, what do you do these days?"
"Just living at the gym. I also work on music on the side."
"You do?"
"Yeah. I have a couple songs. I'm hoping to try and get in an entertainment company."
"That's so cool. I heard you sing a couple times back in the day. I have no doubt you've improved a lot. I'm sure you'll get into a nice company."
"I hope so."
"Is it okay if we take a picture?" You asked him. "For old time's sake?"
"Absolutely!"
You pulled your phone out and snapped a quick photo of the both of you.
"Wait. Let's do a silly one." Wonho suggested.
You made silly faces and you took the picture.
"Can you send those to me?"
"I can."
"Cool. I'll give you my number."

Wonho pushed his two empty bowls of ramen away from him, his hands resting on his stomach.
"Whew. That was really good. Now I need something refreshing to cleanse all that salt from my pallet."
"Me too." You agreed.
"Hey. Why don't we get a watermelon?" He suggested.
"Good idea."
"I'll throw our trash away and then we can get one."
The two of you left the convenience store and went to a small grocery store nearby.
"They don't have any single slices." Wonho frowned in mild disappointment.
"We can get a whole watermelon. We can just get one of the small ones."
"Alright."
He scanned the selection of watermelons and picked out a small one that could be split between two or three people. You both decided to go to the park and eat it.
Wonho rubbed his hands in anticipation. "Ah. I'm excited to eat this."
"Wait. We don't have anything to cut it with."
"Darn. You're right." He frowned, but then his face lit up. "I have an idea. You should probably step back."
You did as he said, curious as to what he was going to do.
He grabbed the watermelon and placed it between his thighs, squeezing them together until the melon broke into multiple pieces.
"Woah!" You gaped in shock. "That was awesome!"
"Thanks." He grinned bashfully. "Sorry it's a bit messy. I don't know if we can eat this normally."
"Maybe we can."
"Oh. Actually..." Wonho reached into his pocket and pulled out a spoon wrapped in a napkin, handing it to you.
"Where did you get these?" You inquired.
"When I threw our trash away, I saved our spoons from the ramen and grabbed some napkins. That one is yours."
"You're a genius." You commended his smart move as you unwrapped the napkin from the plastic utensil and started to dig in.
You stopped for a moment and checked your phone, remembering that you had told Jongho you wouldn't be out for more than an hour. After checking the time, you realized that an hour and ten minutes had passed.
"Shoot." You muttered, grabbing Wonho's attention.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah. I told Jongho I wouldn't be gone for more than an hour and that if plans changed I'd let him know and I forgot."
"Oh. I'm sorry. That's my fault."
"No, no. It's fine. Hang on just one second."
You got up off the grass and walked a few feet away to call Jongho.
"Y/n. Is everything okay?" He answered immediately.
"Yeah. I just wanted to call and let you know that I ran into someone I used to go to school with. We started catching up and I lost track of time."
"That's alright. I can wait a little longer."
"You sure?" You asked.
"Mhm. You go have fun."
"Thanks, Jongho. I'll see you when I get home."
You hung up and walked back over to where Wonho was sitting.
"All good?"
"Yeah." You sat down. "All good."
"I'd like to meet this boyfriend of yours." He told you.
"You'd love him. He's pretty strong just like you."
"He is?"
"Yeah. He can break apples with his bare hands."
"No way."
"Yes way. I have a video. Do you wanna see it?"
"Absolutely." He scooted closer as you pulled up the video.
"Okay, ready?" Your voice said in the video.
Jongho nodded.
He held the apple in his hands, making sure to place his fingers in the right spots before squeezing and breaking the fruit in half with ease.
"Woahhh." Wonho gaped in awe. "That was so cool. How does he do that?"
"I think it has something to do with the pressure that's applied to the top and bottom of the apple. Not sure, though."
"That's so cool."
"There's plenty of compilations on YouTube of Jongho breaking apples. He usually does it while singing a high note. It's pretty impressive."
"Sounds like it. I hope I can meet him someday. Then maybe I can witness it in person."
"I can see when he's got time off and we could plan something if you'd like." You suggested.
"That would be great. I look forward to it."
"Perfect."
The two of you finished your watermelon halves and cleaned up the mess. At that point, you figured it was time for you to head home. You had a lot of fun catching up with Wonho, but you had already kept Jongho waiting for an hour and a half.
"Don't forget to send me those pictures we took." Wonho pointed.
"I won't."
"And we need to keep in touch this time."
"Definitely." You nodded. "I'll see you later."
"See you later." He waved goodbye as you went your separate ways.
You heaved a heavy sigh as you stepped past the threshold of your home's front entrance, closing the door behind you.
"You're home!" Jongho greeted enthusiastically, rushing over to you as he embraced you in a tight hug.
You found it adorable how affectionate he was with you behind closed doors, as he seemed like the type to not care very much for skinship or physical affection.
"Sorry I stayed out a bit later than I planned." You apologized, worried that you made him wait too long.
"It was only thirty minutes later. Don't worry about it." He stroked your hair. "Did you get my cookies?"
"I did." You held the bag up. "Three boxes."
Jongho let out the most adorable noise of excitement and carried the bag into the kitchen, pulling out a box and ripping it open right away.
"So, you said you ran into an old friend?"
"I did. Someone I went to high school with. His name is Wonho. Let me tell you, I didn't even recognize him. He used to be so tiny and now he looks like some kind of bodybuilder."
"Oh?" Jongho raised a brow.
"Yes, it's insane. He even broke a watermelon with his thighs."
"Did he?"
"He did."
"I'd like to see this Wonho guy."
"We actually took pictures together. Let me show you."
You pulled your phone from your back pocket and showed him the photos you and Wonho took at the convenience store.
"I see." Jongho murmured, looking at the picture.
"Oh. Do you have a schedule this weekend?"
"No. Why?"
"No reason." You shrugged. "I'm gonna go change into something more comfortable. These jeans are squeezing the life out of me. I'll be right back." You excused yourself and went to the bedroom.
You took a moment to send the pictures from today to Wonho before you forgot, setting your phone on the bed before changing into some baggy sweats and a t-shirt. Just as you finished up, your phone chimed, it was a text from Wonho.
"That was fast." You commented aloud.

After you left the room to change, Jongho stood in the kitchen, jealousy beginning to manifest inside as he thought about this Wonho guy and the way you spoke so enthusiastically about him.
"Breaking a watermelon with his thighs." He muttered bitterly. "I broke a watermelon with my fist once."
"Ahh. Much better." You sighed out, entering the living room.
"Can I ask you something?" Jongho spoke up, moving to sit beside you on the couch.
"Sure. What is it?"
"Did you and this Wonho ever date?"
"No. We've always just been close friends. We weren't even in the same grade. He was two years ahead of me."
"Ah. Okay, then."
"Why did you wanna know?" You questioned, getting a sneaking suspicion as to why.
"It's nothing." He dismissed.
"You're jealous."
His eyes widened a bit at the accusation.
"Says who?"
"Says you."
"I didn't say I was jealous."
"No, but you sure are acting like it." You chuckled, finding it amusing.
"Why are you laughing? I have a reason to be jealous. That guy is two times my size and you were talking about him like he was the most amazing person on earth."
"I'm sorry if I was overly enthusiastic. It was such a surprise to see him and I guess I was excited to tell you about him." You wrapped your arms around Jongho's shoulders.
"It's fine, cutie. It's not your fault." He muttered, his thumb gently caressing your cheek for a few seconds.
His eyes momentarily darted down to your lips, hardly giving you time to catch on and process what was about to happen before he started to lean forward and close the space between your faces. His hands made themselves comfortable on your waist as he planted his lips on yours. Your eyes slid shut upon contact, the softness of his lips making you melt.
Jongho was a fantastic kisser. He was slow and loving about the gesture, pouring all of his emotions in to the kiss by dragging his lips languidly across yours to let you feel every dip and curve of his mouth.
Your fingers moved up to his brown hair, running your digits through the soft strands. Your gentle ministrations drew out a light sigh from Jongho, his hands squeezing your waist in response. His head tilted to the side, leaning in even closer as he picked up the pace of the kiss ever so slightly. You buried your fingers further into his hair, grabbing handfuls of it while pulling him closer to you.
A few blissful moments passed before Jongho pulled away, his thumb gently squeezing your waist.
"I jumped to conclusions." He admitted. "I'll admit, though, I am just a tad jealous."
"There's no need to be jealous. You're my boyfriend and you have been for three years now."
He gave a slight nod of understanding at your words.
"You know what?"
"What?"
"Wonho wants to meet you."
"He does?"
"Yes. In fact, I told him a lot about you and the first thing he did was start asking me if you were treating me right." You chuckled.
"He seems like a protective guy."
"He is. He's like an older brother to me."
"Well, that's reassuring. You said he wants to meet me?"
"Yes. He's free this weekend and wants to meet up at a bistro in town on Saturday."
"He does?"
You hummed with a small nod.
Jongho seemed to contemplate the idea for a moment, looking pensively at the ground.
"You know, I showed him a video of you breaking an apple. I was bragging about you a lot." You spoke up.
"You were?" Jongho's face lit up.
"I was. Wonho was very impressed with all your skills."
"He was?" Jongho smirked, smoothing his hair back.
"Mhm. I'm sure you'd love to talk to him about all that stuff over lunch this Saturday, right? It'll be fun." You egged him on.
"Alright. We can go, then."
"Great! Thank you , baby." You hugged him, planting a kiss on his cheek.
"If I feel like he's flirting with you, I'm breaking out the big guns." He warned, flexing his arm muscles.
"You won't need to." You assured him, resting your hands on his biceps, making him put his arms down.
"Not even to brag?"
"No." You chuckled. "I'll text Wonho right now and we can set a time to meet."
"Okay, but hurry back. I want you to spend time with me for the rest of the day."
